Vyāsa-pūjā 1984

Padma Hari Dāsa Brahmacārī (Arequipa - Peru)

My dear Śrīla Ācāryapāda,

Please accept my humble obeisances at your lotus feet

nama oṁ viṣṇu pādāya kṛṣṇa preṣṭāya bhu-tale
śrīmate jayapatākā swamin iti nāmine

Oh, Master! How to get the most beautiful words to glorify your divine qualities. I am a profane and I haven’t any intelligence.

Oh, Kṛṣṇa’s representative! I want to sing about your glories, fame and pastimes. But I am so contaminated I don’t understand them.

Oh, patita-pāvana! I constantly want to serve you at your lotus feet but I am without power and intelligence for does it.

Oh, Lord and Master! How can I repay the mercy that you have poured over me? I don’t have anything. It’s impossible!

I want to glorify you, sing about you and serve you; but I am a profane contaminated, without intelligence and I cannot repay your mercy.

But in the spite of your being good and merciful like Kṛṣṇa Himself and your accepting me as your disciple, in spite of that, I am not worthy and I between tears, I pray at your lotus feet.

Perhaps Kṛṣṇa was irritated with you because you have accepted me as your disciple. In the darkness of my ignorance, sometimes I cry and say “I am so fallen perhaps my Guru accepted me as his disciple because he believed that I may serve him, but, poor me! I am so low that I simply cry and cry in my heart, my unfortunate situation.”

When Māyā attacks I look at one of your photos, I join my hands and, between tears, I pray at your lotus feet, asking you to please give me an insignificant place in the immence ocean of your merciful heart.

You’re most fallen and low disciple,
Padma Hari Dāsa Brahmacārī
