Dear Śrīla Prabhupāda!
Please accept our humble obeisances at your lotus feet! All glories to Your Divine Grace!
Today is the most auspicious day in the entire creation for us, because you appeared in Cal-
cutta (on the sacred banks of the mighty Ganges) to again establish the spiritual teachings of Śrī
Kṛṣṇa Caitanya on this planet. How could this be anything but the supreme divine will of Śrī
Gauracandra?
After the departure of His Divine Grace Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura, the movement was
once again at sea for various reasons. Your Divine Grace has kindly explained this in a song called
Viraha-aṣṭaka.
In due course of time, Your Divine Grace took up the herculean task of reviving the cult of Cai-
tanya Vaiṣṇavism and single-handedly achieved the impossible task of establishing 108 temples,
along with gurukulas, goshalas, and farm communities, and you created so many devotees from
various nationalities, races, religious beliefs, without discriminating against them in any way
whatsoever. Certainly, your heroic efforts are mind-boggling to even the sharpest minds.
We at ISKCON Melkote are meditating and trying our best to stay faithful to your simplest
of instructions on cow protection as well as growing our own produce for the pleasure of Lord
Jagannātha-Baladeva-Subhadrādevī. Our humble efforts are giving some small results, by your
mercy, and we hope to expand this in the near future. With great difficulty we were able to get the
land converted for use in religious and social causes by the local authorities, as the ISKCON land
is in an eco-sensitive and protected forest zone. We are endeavoring to erect a small temple and
make some simple facilities for devotees to come and continue their bhajana in the sacred land of
Melukote.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude and loyalty to Your Divine Grace’s instruc-
tions life after life. We shudder to think what would have been our fate had you not preached the
message of the Bhagavad-gītā and changed the destiny of our lives and the lives of many millions
of other souls. We beg your divine self for the spiritual energy to follow your teachings without
deviation.
