You Have Me Moving
You have me moving
Which is for improving
Qualities of magnitude
In character and servitude
It has been over half a century
Since you ignited my energy
Forward in direction
Behind teachers in succession
I’m asked about enthusiasm
Sparing absolutely no sarcasm
I tell them straight – learned from Dad
But major player – reverent Prabhupād
Where I live in the snow drifts
I’ve received many of your gifts
They’ve come to me over the years
In the form of my awesome peers
They shaped me, molded me
Showed me how I should be
Sadly, not all are so active
While Kṛṣṇa is still attractive
I miss them dearly as they pulled me in
Missing their company is a source of chagrin
It’s painful, a separation feeling
It’s natural in such family dealings
Some have perished, some have stayed
Some are on a climb, some are delayed
Men and women, definitely aged
Surely all will be home, fully engaged
I throw gratitude as prostrations
For the friends, my foundations
It is quite the special experience
You are moving me to transcendence
Your servant,
Bhaktimārga Swami
