My dear spiritual father,
Please accept my respectful obeisance’s at the dust of your lotus feet on this glorious occasion of your vyasa puja. This last year has been very eventful. I am assisting Jaganath Kirtanananda pr with the JSSS. I am serving as part of the JSSS core planning team. So far it has been an interesting journey & we have put together a functional plan.
We have had tremendous help from Subananada prabhu who serves on the GBC SPT. He has sacrificed a lot of his valuable time in guiding us through this process. This process has taught me patience, tolerance and to still go on enthusiastically.
The verse from Nectar of Instruction comes to mind:
Utsāhān niścayād dhairyāt tat-tat-karma-pravartanāt... [Upadeśāmṛta 3]
Guru Maharaj I am also developing a project called IMPACT (ISKCON MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS AND CARE TEAMS). This is under the umbrella of devotee care South Africa.
We are developing a medial team of doctors and Allied Health care professionals who would be serving the devotees in South Africa. Especially now during the covid 19 pandemic we are looking at the following plan:
Short term plan (1 to 3 years): Health information dissemination via social medial platforms & radio. Establish a data base for health professionals and covid 19 volunteers.
Mid-term plan (3 to 5 years): Functional skills data base of health care professionals in place and have health camps.
Long term (5 to 10 years): Establish a hospital for devotees.
The third project which I’m facilitating is Marriage facilitation. A team of dedicated devotees have put together a handbook which would assist devotees in pre-marital and post marital counselling.
The 1st draft of the handbook is ready for submission to Devotee Care South Africa and to the South African National counsel for approval. Once approved training of the grihasta facilitators will commence nationally.
Please forgive me for not keeping you up to date with what I have been doing in the projects that I am involved with. Please bless me so that I can continue to serve you and Srila Prabhupada till my last breath leaves me.
Your loving son always hankering for your association,
Vaishnav pran das
