Dear Guru Mahārāja,
Nama Oṁ Vishnu padaya Kṛṣṇa presthaya bhutale
Śrīmate Jayapatākā swamin iti namine,
Nama Acharya padaya Nitāi kripa pradayine
Gaura kathā dhāma daya nagara grama tarine
Please accept my respectful obeisances unto your lotus feet. All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda! All glories to you!
On this auspicious occasion of your 73rd Vyāsa-pūjā, I shall attempt to glorify you, although I have no qualification.
I wholeheartedly thank you for accepting this extremely fallen and useless soul under your shelter. One clear instruction that I remember reading prior to my initiation was to cry that we are not crying for Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa while chanting. It has been 2 years since my initiation and it is my misfortune, that my steel-hard heart still does not cry. I pray to you, seeking your blessings so that I can fulfil your instruction.
I meditate on the fact that you have extended your stay on this planet to fulfil Śrīla Prabhupāda's instructions. You ecstatically enlighten us with nectarean pastimes of Lord Caitanya, every evening. How fortunate I am to be under the shelter of an eternal associate of Lord Caitanya! Yet, I am so wretched that I often do not utilize this wonderful opportunity. Hence, on this auspicious occasion I would like to reinforce my meditation on my initiation vows.
Guru Mahārāja, with each day passing, I learn how deeply compassionate you are, completely absorbed in the mood to preach unlimitedly and deliver all the fallen souls. You inspire me everyday with your daily activities- how each and every activity is for pleasing Śrīla Prabhupāda and his mission, which is non-different from the mission of Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Mahāprabhu, of yāre dekha, tāre kaha ‘Kṛṣṇa’-upadeśa.
I again and again offer my respectful obeisances unto you, who is attached to fulfilling the desires and instructions of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda and the previous ācāryas. By bestowing the mercy of Nityānanda Prabhu and spreading the glories of the abode, transcendental pastimes and instructions of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, you are delivering all the inhabitants of the towns and villages.
Your compassion for the fallen souls is remarkable- urging everyone to somehow chant the Holy Names (yena tena prakareṇa manaḥ kṛṣṇe niveṣayet) in the hospitals, to the doctors, nurses, other patients- literally, everyone; taking every opportunity to distribute prasāda and talking about the Supreme Personality of Godhead and how everyone should serve Him lovingly. Your mind is always absorbed in devising new ways to preach and reach more and more souls who are suffering.
Śrīla Gurudeva, by your blessings, my family is engaged in Bhakti-vṛkṣa preaching. Two of our relatives, who are also a part of our Bhakti-vṛkṣa, are also aspiring to take initiation from you, and have formally taken aspiration earlier in January. We all seek your blessings for our Bhakti-vṛkṣa members. Please bless us so that we can act as instruments in awakening the dormant Kṛṣṇa consciousness in them.
I beg for forgiveness for the offences that I have committed, knowingly or unknowingly. I seek your mercy and blessings so that I can fulfil your instructions.
Your spiritual daughter,
Rūpamayī Sudevī dasī
