Hare Kṛṣṇa Dear Guru Mahārāja,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to you and Śrīla Prabhupāda.
In this most auspicious occasion of your 75th Vyāsa-pūjā, this humble soul wants to offer you some words of glorification. Although I am too ignorant to glorify you but because of your causeless mercy a spiritually blind person like me can also speak about some of your unlimited qualities.
According to Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, a pure Vaiṣṇava should have all the 26 kinds of Vaiṣṇava qualities, and we all can see all these qualities through your every single activity. I just want to tell you about one recent incident in Delhi. On 14th Feb, this year you came to Delhi for few health check-ups. Because of your poor health condition, you directly went to the hospital. And there were so many restrictions for the devotees regarding meeting with you in the airport and in the hospital. All the doctors also told you not to go anywhere else during treatment. But after 3 days, on 18th February, Sunday, you asked doctors to allow to you to visit the Delhi temple for the auspicious darśana of Śrī Śrī Rādhā Pārtha-sārathi. So they allowed you to go out only for this day. And we all knew that you were so much happy, and we were also very happy that at last after trying so much we were able to get your darśana.
So, that day you reached to the temple at about 12:00pm, we, all the devotees gathered there at gate no 03, we were doing kīrtana very loudly and dancing, I was playing mṛdaṅga in that kīrtana for your pleasure. When your car entered the temple though gate 03, we were all became so joyful after seeing you and everyone was dancing, jumping and loudly chanting “Gaurāṅga”. You asked to stop your car, waited for more than 10 minutes to watch us singing and dancing. We were really very happy by seeing you watching us doing kīrtana. Just after that you went to the temple hall to take darśana. After taking darśana you wanted to give Sunday love feast lecture. Although you were forbidden to speak much by the doctors but still you wanted to address us. I was there, was hearing your, every single word very carefully. You told us how much lord Caitanya is merciful. You asked us to increase our preaching activity, specially book distribution. You asked us to complete our Bhakti-śāstrī, Bhakti-vaibhava and similar degrees to read and understand the teachings of Śrīla Prabhupāda.
In this way you gave us time for more than one hour. We are really very grateful to you. Although we all knew that you were sick but because of your compassion for all the condition souls like us, you gave us your most precious time for our benefits. I personally, am so unfortunate that after hearing so many instructions from you, I still am unable to follow them properly due to my deep material attachment.
In this auspicious occasion of your Vyāsa-pūjā, I will not ask for your forgiveness because I know that I am not worthy of your kindness, but I want just a drop of your ocean like mercy so that I can be able to help you fulfilling the instructions of Śrīla Prabhupāda. I just want to please you, but my attachment to this material world is so strong that I find no way to cut this knot of material attachment. But I have only one hope, that is your lotus feet. Please Guru Mahārāja, please be merciful to me so that I can accept your instructions as my life and soul and be able to fulfill this for your pleasure.
Your insignificant servant,
Aruṇakānti Kānāi Dāsa
