Vyāsa-pūjā 2025

Usree Ganguly (Bardhaman, West Bengal - India)

Hare Kṛṣṇa, dear Śrīla Guru Mahārāja,

Please accept my humble and respectful obeisances.
All glories to His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Śrīla Prabhupāda!
All glories to your auspicious appearance day, Śrīla Gurudeva!

I offer my respectful obeisances unto His Holiness Jayapatākā Svāmī, who is very dear to Lord Kṛṣṇa on this earth, having taken shelter at His lotus feet. I offer obeisances to my glorious spiritual master, Śrīla Ācāryapāda, who has delivered all the towns and villages by showering the mercy of Śrīman Nityānanda Prabhu, and has given us the nectar of the glories of Śrī Gaurāṅga and the holy dhāmas in Śrī Gaura-maṇḍala-bhūmi.

Today, on your divine appearance day, I pray to Śrīla Prabhupāda, Śrī Śrī Prahlāda-Nṛsiṁha, Śrī Śrī Pañca-tattva, Śrī Rādhā Mādhava-Aṣṭa-sakhī-vṛnda, and Śrī Śrī Māyāpur Candra for your good health.

Śrīla Gurudeva, how can I glorify you? You are Prabhupāda’s dear servant, Lord Caitanya’s dear associate. Even if I had thousands of mouths, I would still not find a single word to properly glorify you, as I am fully dumb due to demoniac intelligence. Therefore, I request you, dear master, please bless me with pure intelligence to glorify you.

jogyatā-vicāre, kichu nāhi pāi, tomāra karuṇā-sāra

I don’t find any good qualities in me, but despite my thousands of bad qualities, you have kindly accepted me as your disciple. I did not have faith; I lost all hope to live in this world. But, dear master, you kindly accepted me. I was wasting my life simply by serving Māyā, but you saved me from the mouth of Yamarāja, taught me devotional service, and gave me the rarest bhakti-latā-bīja, which I do not deserve.

brahmāṇḍa bhramite kona bhāgyavān jīva
guru-kṛṣṇa-prasāde pāya bhakti-latā-bīja

Translation: “According to their karma, all living entities are wandering throughout the entire universe. Some of them are being elevated to the upper planetary systems, and some are going down into the lower planetary systems. Out of many millions of wandering living entities, one who is very fortunate gets an opportunity to associate with a bona fide spiritual master by the grace of Kṛṣṇa. By the mercy of both Kṛṣṇa and the spiritual master, such a person receives the seed of the creeper of devotional service.”

Dear Śrīla Gurudeva, the scriptures mention that a person, after several lifetimes, gets the fortune to receive the mercy of Śrī Guru—but I am not that fortu... It was you who mercifully accepted me. It was you who took out the dirtiest soul, cleaned it, and made it look good. I don’t know how to show gratefulness to you, but dear Śrīla Guru Mahārāja, thank you so much for accepting me as your disciple. The scriptures say that it is impossible to repay the debt of Śrī Guru, but one must try 100% to serve the spiritual master. Thus, I will always try to serve you with my 100%. Despite my imperfection, incapability, and foolishness, I will serve you like a dog who serves his master even if he is lame. But still, I don’t know how to serve you, dear master, and thus I pray at your lotus feet to bless me with the intelligence and strength to serve you.

When everyone left me because of my incapabilities, my faults, and my offenses, you accepted me and gave me my goal of life. You gave me so much love, care, and support, which no one ever gave me. When, on the dark night, even my parents left me, you took me with you. I wonder how much love you have given me.

We all have heard the story of a scorpion and the sādhu. Like the sādhu who tried continuously to save the scorpion and the scorpion continuously stung the sādhu, you are always trying to save me from this material ocean. And knowingly or unknowingly, I am hurting you by my actions, words, and mind.

Thus, on your auspicious appearance day, to glorify your transcendental qualities and to ask forgiveness, I have written a poem:

Kṛpār sāgara Śrīla Jayapatākā, tomāre kori namana
Dīna-hīna jane uddhāra koro, bhārate koriyā bhramaṇa

The scriptures say that the ultimate goal of life is to serve the spiritual master, but I am incapable of doing that. I am trying hard to control my mind and put it in the service of Kṛṣṇa, but without your mercy, I cannot do that.

You have done so much for me that I cannot calculate, but now it is my turn to serve you with all that I have. I will put all my talents and capabilities toward your mission, and I will pray to Kṛṣṇa day and night to give me the strength so that I can work for you according to your wish.

As you manifested your wish through other senior devotees that I should study for my school exams (class 10), I studied and appeared for them. I have put in my effort, though it was small and I could have worked harder, but I have offered my results to Kṛṣṇa.

As you instructed via mail to make documentaries both in Bengali and English, my team and I are working hard to achieve the goal of producing one documentary a month. I pray at your lotus feet to bless me with guidance from senior devotees so I may do the services more efficiently.

Last year I started Mātājīs BACE classes, which were going well, but I had to pause them due to my exams. I hope to resume them soon. I distributed some books during the Gītā Marathon and discovered a trick—that if we speak in English, many people are attracted and take the books. So I am teaching my devotee friends how to speak in English.

We also organized a nāgara-saṅkīrtana from Bardhamān Station to Bīrhāta, where some people joined and danced with us. By your blessings, one of my cousin godsisters and I have started a cake and Deity dress-making business. We have also launched a social media platform to preach Kṛṣṇa consciousness.

I am also learning different instruments like mṛdaṅga and guitar to use in nāgara-saṅkīrtana. I have many plans to serve ISKCON and Śrīla Prabhupāda in the future. Therefore, I pray at your lotus feet to bless me so that I can offer my entire life unto your service.

Your insignificant spiritual daughter,
