Hare Kṛṣṇa! All glories to Śrī Śrī Guru and Gaurāṅga!
Dear Gurudeva,
Please accept my respectful obeisances in the dust of Your lotus feet. All glories to the holy day of Your Vyāsa-pūjā. All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda.
I know that I have neither the qualifications nor the qualities to glorify You on this auspicious day. Your inconceivable mercy is the only thing I have.
This year has been difficult for You and for all of us because of Your long illness. However, this illness has shown how independent Your consciousness is of the physical body and how merciful You are. As soon as You felt better, You began giving initiations again. I received my second initiation in July this year and am very grateful for the opportunity to hear the Gāyatrī-mantra during such a difficult period for You. I feel that this mantra gives me insight into the scriptures and pastimes of the Lord.
This year I have given a few lectures on Lord Caitanya to a small group of devotees. For this purpose I have read Your book on Lord Caitanya and listened to the lectures. By Your mercy I have been able to get acquainted with His pastimes and, I think, to understand them more deeply. I have also been preparing for the lectures on our guru-paramparā.
Now I would like to visit the places where Lord Caitanya and Nityānanda performed Their pastimes and to bow down to the samādhis of the great Vaiṣṇavas. I have never been to Māyāpur, but perhaps by Your mercy I will be able to go to Māyāpur-dhāma and Jagannātha Purī in February this year. Perhaps by Your mercy I will be able to attend Your lectures. I would also like to visit these holy places and see the Spiritual City that we have worked so hard to build.
I read Your messages in the attachment and I know how much importance You attach to the construction and development of Māyāpur and all the projects associated with these. Thank You very much for this! This is a very important matter for all humanity—the creation of such a spiritual center. Śrīla Prabhupāda was very interested in it, who saw this city in the future with his spiritual vision. And You show us an example of serving the instructions of the Guru.
Thank You for giving such an inspiring example of Your preaching, caring for devotees, and relationship with Śrīla Prabhupāda. Guru Mahārāja, You always have unlimited faith and love for Śrīla Prabhupāda. Please share this faith and love with me.
On this day, I bow down at Your feet to express my gratitude. Please forgive my mistakes and always lead me to Lord Kṛṣṇa. With all my heart I wish You success in fulfilling the instructions entrusted to You by Śrīla Prabhupāda.
Jaya Gurudeva!
With obeisances,
Your dīkṣā-disciple,
