Vyāsa-pūjā Offering 2025

Snigdhā Mādhavī Devī Dāsī
(New Delhi/Haryana)

Hare Kṛṣṇa, beloved Guru Mahārāja.
Please accept my respectful obeisances.
All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda!
All glories to Your Holiness!

We, the conditioned souls of Kali-yuga, are the most blessed to be observing your 76th divine Śrī Vyāsa-pūjā Mahāmahotsava. The great ascetics, jñānīs and yogīs try very hard for spiritual perfection. However, the pinnacle of spiritual perfection is pure devotional service, and the most confidential essence of it is guru-bhakti. Thus, in all ages, the highest principle is to take shelter of an eternal associate of the Supreme Personality of Godhead and render service unto Him. How great must the efforts, good fortune, and qualification be to achieve such a blessing!

However, as a true and highly empowered representative of Lord Nityānanda, you have both bestowed that great good fortune upon us and continue to keep us going in the service of the Lord.

Your vision for furthering Śrīla Prabhupāda’s mission is inconceivable. To develop congregations and bring up the next generation of ISKCON devotees, you have shed gallons and gallons of blood. By taking our karma, disregarding our disqualification, you accepted us. Because of your daily prayers to Their Lordships for your disciples, we are surviving in spiritual life. Whatever we are able to do—even the smallest act of just going before the Deities and paying Them obeisances—is possible only because you are watching our back.

Lord Kṛṣṇa says in the Bhagavad-gītā, “I am the ability in man,” and when He left, the great warrior Arjuna could not even fight off the aborigines. This was to show that all capability comes from Kṛṣṇa. Similarly, all ability of a disciple comes from Śrī Guru. We would be atheists if not for your constant blessings. We would be materialists if not for your forgiveness and magnanimity.

You are so lovable, Guru Mahārāja. There is a special affection that everyone has for you. Just like Kṛṣṇa has a personal relationship with every devotee, despite thousands of disciples, you maintain and protect everyone personally. Your mercy potency is unlimited because you are a completely surrendered disciple. Guru-tattva is very heavy, and only a heavyweight of Lord Caitanya can bear it. To find one is so rare, and to be initiated by one is even rarer.

We hear how Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura, a ray of Lord Viṣṇu, had to approach Śrīla Gaurakiṣora Dāsa Bābājī Mahārāja seventeen times for initiation! What chance do we stand! And yet, you never reject us. There could be no greater blessing in the entirety of the Lord’s creation than to be under the ānugatya of such a Gaura-dhana-jana.

In your recent classes, you are discussing showers and streams of prema from Śrī Caitanya-śikṣāmṛta and constantly mentioning that you want us to rise to bhāva and then prema. You have such a broad, exalted, accommodative, and far-reaching vision for us, Kali-yuga’s nitya-baddhas. We (and I speak for myself) could never have thought so high, and yet you make the highest object so accessible. And I have firm faith that by your absolute mercy, all miracles are possible.

mūkaṁ karoti vācālaṁ
paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande
śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam

paramānanda-mādhavaṁ śrī-caitanya-īśvaram

— is the motto of our lives, all thanks to you.

On this most munificent day in our lives, I seek forgiveness for my offences, and protection from committing fresh offences—from my own ignorance, and from falling into māyā, dear Gurudeva, just as you have taught us. I pray that I may always be enthusiastically, determinedly, and patiently engaged in your service as a humble instrument, giving up service of the material energy.

May your glories ever resound in the three worlds, my most glorious master!

With warm regards and sincere affection,
Your unworthy daughter,
Snigdhā Mādhavī Devī Dāsī
