Vyāsa-pūjā 2025

Śyāmakānta Kṛṣṇa Dāsa (Kolkata - India)

Hare Kṛṣṇa, Guru Mahārāja,

Please accept my respectful obeisances at Your divine lotus feet.
All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda.

On this most auspicious occasion of Your 76th Vyāsa-pūjā, I bow at Your lotus feet with deep gratitude. Every morning, during maṅgala-ārati, we sing:

saṁsāra-dāvānala-līḍha-loka
trāṇāya kāruṇya-ghanāghanatvam

Just as a raincloud extinguishes a blazing forest fire, the spiritual master delivers the conditioned souls from the sufferings of this world through his unlimited mercy.

Guru Mahārāja, You are the living embodiment of that mercy. Despite so many physical challenges, You continue to travel, preach, and uplift countless souls, tirelessly fulfilling Śrīla Prabhupāda’s mission. Your dedication, compassion, and tireless service inspire us all.

Recently, You spoke about the unlimited mercy of Lord Nityānanda, whose causeless grace is the only hope for fallen souls like myself. It is through Your divine presence that we experience His mercy in this age. You have dedicated Your entire existence to fulfilling Śrīla Prabhupāda’s mission, ensuring that every soul—regardless of background, qualification, or location—receives the opportunity to reconnect with Kṛṣṇa consciousness.

Guru Mahārāja, I have no qualification, yet by Your causeless mercy, I pray that I may contribute—even in a small way—to Your divine mission. You have often said that even an unqualified person can render great service if they simply take shelter of the spiritual master’s mercy.

mūkaṁ karoti vācalam
paṅguṁ laṅghayate girim
yat-kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande
śrī-guruṁ dīna-bandhavam

By the mercy of the spiritual master, even a mute can speak eloquently, and a lame man can cross mountains.

When I was five years old, I visited Śrī Māyāpur-dhāma with my family. As I walked through the temple and saw Śrīla Prabhupāda’s puṣpa-samādhi, his deity, and his photographs, I had a spontaneous realization—I felt that Śrīla Prabhupāda was my grandfather. My own grandfather wore kaṇṭhī-mālā and tilaka, and I saw the same divine qualities in Śrīla Prabhupāda.

Now, many years later, I understand that my childhood realization was true. Śrīla Prabhupāda is my spiritual grandfather, and You, Guru Mahārāja, are my spiritual father.

Guru Mahārāja, I pray that I may always remain engaged in Your service. May my life be dedicated to assisting You in whatever way pleases You. Your kindness is my only shelter, and I am forever grateful for Your divine grace.

Your insignificant son,
Syāmakānta Kṛṣṇa Dāsa (Dīkṣā)
