“I offer my respectful obeisances unto my spiritual master, the deliverer of the fallen souls. His mercy turns the dumb into eloquent speakers and enables the lame to cross mountains.”

All glories! All glories to Śrīla Jayapatākā Swāmī Mahārāja! All glories to the Vyāsa-pūjā celebration of His Holiness.

This year our family had the good fortune of performing the Navadvīpa-maṇḍala Parikramā that was expertly organized under the directions of Śrīla Gurudeva, His Holiness Jayapatākā Swāmī and His Holiness Lokanātha Swāmī Mahārāja. By the dint of our little experience in the holy dhāma, we were amazed by the splendour and purity with which each detail was taken care of. All the yātrīs were fully satisfied by the care and attention offered. Punctuality in the services and support at each step made the yātrā smooth. We are very thankful and obliged to this great service of Guru Mahārāja rendered to the holy dhāma and Śrīla Prabhupāda.

Despite Guru Mahārāja’s failing health, not even one day went by without a lecture by Guru Mahārāja for the parikramā. Indeed, Śrīla Gurudeva is a bona fide representative of Lord Nityānanda Prabhu, who is always revealing the holy dhāma to the sincere seekers. We were all immersed in the amṛta-gaṅgā of Lord Gaurāṅga’s holy names and pastimes as narrated by senior Vaiṣṇavas and Śrīla Gurudeva. We never felt separate from Guru Mahārāja.

Each day spent in Śrīdhāma Māyāpur made us realize the great service Guru Mahārāja has rendered to Śrīla Prabhupāda and the predecessor ācāryas. The whole Navadvīpa-maṇḍala loves Śrīla Gurudeva Mahārāja. Guru Mahārāja is the heart of Śrīdhāma Māyāpur, and the holy dhāma is the home of His Holiness Jayapatākā Swāmī Mahārāja. Throughout the nine islands of Navadvīpa-dhāma, there's not a single jīva who has escaped the mercy of Lord Gaurāṅga. Our dear Śrīla Gurudeva is instrumental in expanding the glories of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu throughout the holy dhāma and the whole world.

Every day, hundreds of thousands of books and Vedic literatures were being distributed throughout the length and breadth of Śrīdhāma Māyāpur by the causeless mercy of Śrīla Gurudeva. These books constitute the spiritual revolution that Śrīman Mahāprabhu has predicted in the lives of many. Each nook and corner of the holy dhāma is imbued with a sweet pastime of Lord Gaurāṅga, and our Gurudeva joyfully shares the details and esoteric meanings of those pastimes. Śrīla Gurudeva is always engaged in the congregational chanting of the holy names and engages his followers in the saṅkīrtana-yajña. Very often, tears of ecstasy can be seen in the eyes of Guru Mahārāja, and at other times, his body thrills upon the utterance of “Gouuuuuuurāṅga!”

Increasing the ecstasy of Lord Gaura-sundara, the devotees joyfully partake in the service of prasādam. Each day, prasādam was of the best quality, and devotees ate to their full satisfaction. Nowhere in the holy dhāma have I seen any jīva starving for food. Śrīla Gurudeva made sure that all yātrīs were being served nice prasādam. The organization behind this prasādam service is simply amazing—such a Herculean task! There needs to be proper coordination at every level. Out of love for our Gurudeva, devotees joyfully engage in this service. This festival concludes with the Śāntipura festival, where devotees are fed nice prasādam.

The divine beauty of the holy dhāma was especially apparent during the early morning hours. Even the Deities were dressed gorgeously on palanquins bedecked with fine cloth and jewelry. Śrīla Gurudeva engaged the devotees in the seva of the Deity form of Lord Gaurāṅga, and it further expanded in grandeur at the TOVP. Guru Mahārāja is always assisting his spiritual master, Śrīla Prabhupāda, in the nikuñja-sevā of Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Mādhava and also engages his followers to learn the art of serving the Divine Couple in the arcā form. Devotees would feast on the Deities' form every morning by the mercy of Śrīla Gurudeva.

The glories of Lord Gaurāṅga are unlimited. So are the glories of His Holiness Jayapatākā Swāmī Mahārāja. Millions of times we fall at the feet of Śrīla Gurudeva and we pray for his good health.

Aspiring to be your servant,
Keśava Kṛṣṇacaitanya dāsa
