My Dear Spiritual Father,
Please accept my most respectful obeisances unto your lotus feet.
All glories to His Divine Grace Śrīla Prabhupāda!
In the First Canto of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, Chapter 5, Verse 23, Śrīla Prabhupāda states in his purport:
One should therefore choose a bona fide servant of the Lord constantly engaged in His service, accept such a servant as the spiritual master and engage himself in his (the spiritual master's) service. Such a spiritual master is the transparent medium by which to visualize the Lord, who is beyond the conception of the material senses. By service of the bona fide spiritual master, the Lord consents to reveal Himself in proportion to the service rendered.
This year marks my 25th year since Harināma initiation, when you so mercifully accepted me as your disciple. Even though I am so unworthy, somehow you engaged me.
On this auspicious Śrī Vyāsa-pūjā, I find myself unable to express in words how much your presence in this material world is a relief from the clutches of māyā. By making as many devotees as you possibly could, engaging people in sevā, and following the instructions Śrīla Prabhupāda gave you, you have shown—through your own example—how we must be faithful to the spiritual master.
I pray to remain in the shade of your lotus feet.
Your servant,
Mitrā Gopī Devī Dāsī
