Hare Kṛṣṇa Dear Guru Mahārāja,
Please accept my respectful obeisances!
All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda!
All glories to Śrīla Gurudeva!
My dear Guru Mahārāja, you are an ocean of mercy. I wonder how merciful you are to fallen souls like me. Your lectures are so nectarean—they bring us closer to Kṛṣṇa and increase our attachment to Him. Padma-vākya emanating from Your Divine Grace is so lively that even children are attracted and involved.
By your causeless mercy, my 9-year-old son, Sāraṅga, hears your Enlightenment Lecture Series and becomes so absorbed. It’s truly mind-blowing how you connect deep philosophy to current world affairs with lively and humorous examples that even children love. In one of your lectures, you compared the swirling of a switched-off airplane accelerating to save lives with accelerating our devotional service to overcome material entanglement. That analogy was so powerful—I’ve used it to explain these truths to many children.
When we visited Śrīdhāma Māyāpur this year and in previous years, your tailored lectures addressed our mental confusions with such clarity. They were truly reassuring, establishing the heart-to-heart relationship between spiritual master and disciple. How fortunate I am! I often wonder how I received this causeless mercy—to have such a glorious spiritual father, who, in spite of having thousands of children, never fails to care for the most feeble and dependent! This reminds me of Śrīla Prabhupāda's response: “I made your good fortune!” I understand now that Your Divine Grace made my good fortune—and extended it to my family through your senior disciples.
In the past, when I heard about topics like rati or prema, I assumed they were only for advanced devotees. They felt far beyond my reach. But in your recent lectures on Caitanya-śikṣāmṛta, I could finally relate. You made it accessible—even for neophytes like me—and I felt real hope and happiness. When you said you want all devotees to achieve prema, my desire to chant nicely grew. With your mercy and blessings, I now believe that even a lowly, useless person like myself can aim for Kṛṣṇa-prema in this very life.
Who else in this world would have saved me? Who else would have accepted and protected me from this blazing forest fire? My most merciful Gurudeva, please forgive me for the unlimited offenses I have committed, knowingly and unknowingly. Please bless me and my family to chant without offenses and achieve Kṛṣṇa-prema in this lifetime. Please bless me to always remain attached to your divine lotus feet and serve you sincerely for your pleasure.
I deeply desire for my son, Sāraṅga, to become your sincere disciple. He is currently trying to chant four rounds—kindly bless him to chant without offenses and become your faithful follower. Please bless my parents, who are now in your shelter, to properly study Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books, take initiation soon, and preach and serve Your Divine Grace sincerely. Kindly extend your blessings to my husband, that he may also become a devotee soon.
After hearing the pastime of Caitanya Mahāprabhu rescuing Amogha from your lotus mouth, I desire to become a faithful dog of Your Divine Grace and your sincere servants. I pray that all my family members become your faithful dogs as well, for you are very dear to Śrīla Prabhupāda and to Lord Gaurāṅga Mahāprabhu.
Dear Gurudeva, kindly bless me to chant sixteen rounds without offenses, and to be regular in reading, hearing your lectures, and studying for my Bhakti-śāstrī exams.
Your useless daughter,
Vidyāsvarūpiṇī Rādhā Devī Dāsī
