My dear Guru Mahārāja,

Please accept my respectful obeisances at your lotus feet!
All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda! All glories to Śrī Śrī Guru and Gaurāṅga!

On the auspicious day of your Vyāsa-pūjā, I glorify your lotus feet, which are the inexhaustible source of devotional service. Dear Guru Mahārāja, please bless me that your teachings and instructions may reside in my heart. May your divine lotus feet always rest upon my head; I have no other hope for advancing spiritually.

You are always engaged in spreading the mercy of Śrī Caitanya and Nityānanda all over the world for the salvation of conditioned souls. The fame and glories of your activities are widespread. I am sure that every sincere disciple who endeavors to glorify you and remember you always will soon attain direct service to Kṛṣṇa! I aspire to receive the dust of the lotus feet of these dear associates of yours upon my head.

Just seeing you, all existential problems disappear in an instant, like a small fire that vanishes when a torrential rain pours upon it; what can be said of one who serves you personally? These devotees are indeed very fortunate!

Many times I have been able to witness your ecstasies—while you were in contemplation of the Deities, while singing the holy name of the Lord, or while narrating to the devotees the glories of the Lord. For this reason, due to the causeless fortune I have been able to witness, I offer you my respectful obeisances hundreds of times.

Dear Guru Mahārāja, you are an inexhaustible example of good qualities—in chanting, preaching, and in carrying out all the instructions that Śrīla Prabhupāda gave you. I hope one day to acquire, by your mercy, even one of the thousands of qualities you show us to educate us on the path of bhakti.

You are very dear to Kṛṣṇa and Śrīla Prabhupāda; the spiritual master is defined as the transparent intermediary—the one who allows us to see the Lord. For this reason, I must honor you as the Lord Himself. Please bestow your mercy upon me so that I may become truly humble and no longer desire any sense of honor.

After scrutinizing your impeccable personal example and comparing my useless self with the character of the other Vaiṣṇavas, I find no good quality within me. For this reason, I must obtain your causeless mercy at all costs to give value to my life.

Only then will I be able to serve Śrī Guru and Śrī Gaurāṅga in the holy dhāma and assist in the mission of Śrīla Prabhupāda!

Please accept my respectful obeisances again and again at your lotus feet!

Śrīla Prabhupāda kī jaya!
Śrīla Jayapatākā Swāmī Guru Mahārāja kī jaya!

Your humble servant,
Murāri-Caitanya dāsa (dīkṣā)
