Vyāsa-pūjā 2025

Amalātmā Hari Dāsa (Bangalore - India)

Revered Guru Mahārāja,

All glories to you, Viśva-guru Śrīla Prabhupāda, and to the paramparā ācāryas.
Anek anek daṇḍavat praṇāma.

nama oṁ viṣṇu-pādāya kṛṣṇa-preṣṭhāya bhū-tale
śrīmate jayapatāka svāmin iti nāmine
nama ācāryapādāya nitāi-kṛpā-pradāyine
gaura-kathā-dhāma-dāya nagara-grāma-tāriṇe

We are extremely grateful to Their Lordships for giving us yet another opportunity to glorify you—the ocean of qualities rarely found in jīvas of Kali-yuga. We are blessed to be in the Brahmā-Mādhva-Gauḍīya sampradāya, as your harināma-initiated, insignificant disciples.

Your magnanimity is such that you are prepared to forgive even offenses committed against you.

We keep hearing your pastimes and glories from your Godbrothers and senior disciples. The other day, we heard a mātaji giving class, wherein she quoted how Lord Kṛṣṇa says in Bhagavad-gītā that devotees who have certain qualities are most dear to Him.

Your non-envious nature—openheartedly giving shelter and initiation to whomever sincerely seeks it—is unparalleled. Mātaji narrated how once in Thailand, during a gathering of many devotees listening to your preaching, several uneducated but eager followers sought your shelter. Although there was a prerequisite of passing an examination, you mercifully arranged for a late-night class followed by the test.

The next morning, when informed that most had not passed, your large golden heart melted. You called some devotees and asked, “Who is Parama Pūjya Bhagavān?”
A prompt reply came, “Kṛṣṇa.”
Guru Mahārāja, you chose multiple options so that even the uneducated could sail across the ocean of Kṛṣṇa consciousness.

You never encouraged managers to be yes-men. You welcomed open discussion on projects. And after a long, heartfelt conversation, you would laugh and say, “That was a long, good class,” or something to that effect.

Once, a devotee spoke about not killing any living entity—even cockroaches—and asked how to live with them without inviting disease. You suggested: “Keep your house so clean that no unwanted species enter.” Such kindness!

During yatras, walking under the scorching heat, you personally distributed mahā-prasāda of sun cream. There are countless pastimes—like wrestling with Japanese fighters (and defeating them!), or distributing food during the Bengal floods, even single-handedly—that show your unwavering compassion and strength.

The scope of work assigned to you by your Guru Mahārāja cannot be accomplished in 24-hour days, yet you continue fulfilling it with miraculous time management—even in difficult health. Your personal comfort has never been a priority.

We pray to Prahlāda-Nṛsiṁha for your good health. The Māyāpur hospital has come as a boon. All our sādhana and prayers are dedicated at your lotus feet. May Their Lordships grant you a 1,000-year lifespan, enabling the completion of your transcendental mission.

It is to your credit that anyone who hears, listens to, or meets you becomes part of ISKCON’s family.

We are praying for just a drop of your mercy, so we may sail through this duḥkhālayam. Reading your pastimes daily inspires us to emulate even a fraction of your qualities in our lives.

Guru Mahārāja, we were deeply concerned after reading your message during Nārāyaṇa month, where you mentioned your ill-health may be connected to some disciples not following their vows strictly—especially the four regulative principles and the minimum 16 rounds of japa.

On our part, we are meticulously maintaining cleanliness, daily maṅgala-ārati, chanting 20–25 rounds, and strictly following the four regulative principles.

It pains us whenever we read or hear that you are unwell.
