Vyāsa-pūjā 2025

Śobha Yaśodā Devī Dāsī (Dāmodara Deśa - Middle East)

Hare Kṛṣṇa, Guru Mahārāja
Please accept my humble obeisances! All glories to Guru and Gaurāṅga! All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda!

Dear Guru Mahārāja,

I am Śobhā Yaśodā Devī Dāsī (karmic name: Sobha Sreekumar), a disciple of His Holiness Jayapatākā Svāmī Guru Mahārāja, initiated on 27th January 2017 during Dāmodara-deśa Yātrā.

I hope that Guru Mahārāja is in good health—for which I am praying every day. I also receive daily updates about Mahārāja’s health and service activities.

Guru Mahārāja, it is only by your causeless mercy that I could transform my lifestyle. Before, I was entangled in tamo-guṇa, but by your instructions and blessings, I have adopted a sāttvika lifestyle and now follow the four regulative principles as your humble servant.

I have been studying Śrīmad Bhagavad-gītā since 1995, and His Holiness Mahāmaṇi Kṛṣṇa Dāsa Prabhu was my first śikṣā-guru. Now, by your continued mercy, I am teaching Bhagavad-gītā, Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (including various stutis), Brahma-saṁhitā, and devotional bhajanas to mātājīs and children, both online and offline. In Dāmodara-deśa, several classes are taking place, and I have the opportunity to guide around twelve children and ten ladies. This is all by your mercy alone, Guru Mahārāja.

Opposite my building, several other mātājīs are also conducting spiritual classes. It is truly a blessing to witness the blossoming of devotional service in this region.

I am a fallen soul, but by Guru Mahārāja’s compassion, I am attempting to practice Kṛṣṇa consciousness sincerely. I try to always remember Lord Kṛṣṇa, as instructed by Him in the Bhagavad-gītā. Though sometimes I become distracted by Māyā, even while chanting, I pray to Guru Mahārāja for strength to bring my mind back to Kṛṣṇa and fix it in His service.

In Dāmodara-deśa, I am able to attend and do sevā at the Sunday congregation, including Lakṣmī-sevā. Whenever I am in Tiruvalla, Kerala, I attend the saṅkīrtana at Karunattukavu Temple, which has recently been taken over by ISKCON. By Guru Mahārāja’s grace, I also get to serve there by cooking prasādam, performing Lakṣmī-sevā, and relishing the nectarean Kṛṣṇa-kathā lectures.

Thank you, Guru Mahārāja,
Praying always for your well-being and health.

Your humble servant,
Śobhā Yaśodā Devī Dāsī
