My dearest Śrīla Prabhupāda,
Please accept my humble obeisances at your divine lotus feet. All glories to Your Divine Grace.
All glories to Śrī Guru and Gaurāṅga.
By your boundless mercy, the whole of ISKCON is flourishing as a beacon of spiritual light,
offering the greatest gift – Kṛṣṇa consciousness – to the world. Your divine vision and tireless
efforts have manifested an international movement that continues to uplift countless souls from
ignorance to transcendental knowledge.
It is by your compassion that millions today have found their connection with Kṛṣṇa. You trav-
eled tirelessly, enduring great hardships, solely for the benefit of suffering humanity. With a heart
overflowing with love, you distributed the most valuable treasure – the holy names of Kṛṣṇa and
the message of the Bhagavad-gītā and Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam.
Your books are like transcendental lighthouses, guiding lost souls to the shore of Kṛṣṇa’s eter-
nal abode. These scriptures are not just texts; they are living instructions infused with your purity
and realization. Scholars, seekers, and devotees alike continue to derive immense wisdom from
them. They have transformed the lives of millions, awakening their dormant Kṛṣṇa consciousness.
Your lectures, spoken with such deep realization, continue to inspire and instruct devotees
worldwide. Your conversations provide practical guidance on how to apply Kṛṣṇa consciousness
in every aspect of life. The nectar of your words remains ever fresh, carrying the power to change
hearts and turn materialists into devotees.
Your disciples, whom you so mercifully trained, are carrying forward your mission in every
corner of the world. They are establishing temples, engaging in book distribution, inspiring thou-
sands, and upholding your instructions with dedication. Your granddisciples, too, are actively
continuing this preaching mission, ensuring that the chanting of the holy names reaches every
town and village, just as you desired.
Śrīla Prabhupāda, your ISKCON continues to grow under your divine protection. Devotees
are taking shelter of your teachings, spreading Kṛṣṇa consciousness through festivals, kīrtanas,
prasādam distribution, and online outreach. Even in this age of technology, your mercy finds its
way into the hearts of people through digital preaching, social media, and online classes – all
serving as extensions of your mission.
Every devotee who follows your instructions is proof of your mercy. Every temple, farm
community, book distributed, and soul engaged in Kṛṣṇa’s service is a living testament to your
unshakeable faith in Lord Caitanya’s prophecy.
We offer our deepest gratitude at your lotus feet and pray for your continued blessings so that
we may serve your mission with sincerity and determination. May we always remain as humble
servants of your divine instructions, assisting in your grand mission to make the whole world
Kṛṣṇa conscious. Hare Kṛṣṇa.
Your humble servant,
Revati Raman Dāsa
Dear Śrīla Prabhupāda,
Please accept our most humble obeisances in the dust of your divine lotus feet.

When you first set foot on the European continent, it was 1969 and you came to Hamburg, Germany, from New York. You landed on an early Sunday morning, August 25, 1969.
As always with you, that was the beginning of many, many firsts. You were the very first spiritual master to grace Germany from the long line of Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇavas going back thousands of years, with the most recent appearance in 1486 of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, the Supreme Lord Himself, who had descended to spread the yuga-dharma of this age: the congregational chanting of the Lord’s holy names.
Although in 1933 your Godbrother Bon Mahārāja had been in Berlin and met a professor, who later also went to India and became an initiated disciple of Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Mahārāja, it was upon your arrival that the mission of Lord Caitanya first took significant hold in Germany.
By August 1968, you had already sent a young disciple of yours ahead – a boy you’d met in Montreal. His name was Śivānanda Dāsa. Alone, but blessed with the determination to spread Kṛṣṇa consciousness in Europa, Śivānanda had been refused entry into London, so he’d gone on to Amsterdam, and finally ended up in Hamburg, Germany, where you confirmed he should stay and preach. By the time you arrived in August 1969, he had gotten assistance from some of his godbrothers and also attracted the very first German-born devotees. On September 3, 1969, on the first Janmāṣṭamī that you celebrated on the European continent, you initiated some of those first German devotees.
As you once told your disciples about your Guru Mahārāja, Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Gosvāmī Mahārāja, “My Guru Mahārāja was tenth in the line from Lord Caitanya. That makes me the eleventh.” As you were talking to your young devotees, using a grave tone to capture the gravity of your point: “You are all disciples and you are the twelfth generation in the line of disciplic succession from Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu.”
Not only were you the first ācārya in the Gauḍīya line to come to Germany, but you also carried – in your hand luggage – the very first Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa Deities to be installed on the European continent.
After staying with the devotees in Hamburg for two and a half weeks, you boarded a plane for your next destination – London – again carrying, in your hand luggage, the Deities you had hoped to install in Hamburg. You felt that the temple and the devotees were still not ready to receive Their Lordships, even though you had had the Deities worshiped with an ārati on the day you arrived in Germany. This ārati was performed in your flat, with most of the devotees seeing this kind of Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa worship for the very first time.
Still, in Germany, you introduced a devotee to the Deities, taking him into your room and showing him Their makeshift altar in a closet. You told him, “You should know that you are actually cooking for Them, not for me.” At that time, there were only a few installed Deities in the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement, so the concept of Deity worship was very new, but you, Śrīla Prabhupāda, were so merciful to the devotees at that time to let them in on a deep secret: that the Deity is nondifferent from Śrī Kṛṣṇa!
This happened a little more than a month after you had installed the small Śrī Śrī Rukmiṇī-Dvārakādīśa in Los Angeles, on July 16, 1969. Now, as the devotees in Germany got really serious about finding a better place, they informed you in the middle of September 1969 that they had indeed found a better place and were preparing for the arrival of Their Lordships.
As you were still in London and very much engaged in getting the Bury Place temple ready, you sent Tamal Krishna Goswami with those very same Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa Deities you had brought and then taken away. He was to install Them – which he did on November 23, 1969. Another first: an American-born devotee preforming a Deity installation.
These Deities had been with you in your rooms as you traveled. Yamunā Devī had learned to dress, paint, and decorate Deities by serving these very Deities, and now They had been installed as the first Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa Deities in Europe in your budding International Society for Krishna Consciousness in Hamburg.
Later, when the devotees found a castle and moved to Schloss Rettershof, these Deities became the central attraction of our new German headquarters temple. You also personally came there in 1974 and held a grand initiation of devotees from many European countries in Their presence.
Although these Deities are small – only ten inches tall, made of brass – They are still the main yātrā Deities of Germany, even after fifty-six years. Here in Goloka Dhāma They are served and worshiped with the marble Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Madana-mohana and Śrī Śrī Gaura-Nitāi.
As the story goes regarding the larger set of marble Deities, one of your female disciples was sent to Jaipur to get a set about forty or fifty inches tall. These were to be installed in Paris. But as this devotee saw a gorgeous Rādhārāṇī who was just sixteen inches tall, she felt she had to take Her. It took her a few days more to find the right Kṛṣṇa for Her – He had to be about twenty inches tall. As these Lordships came to Paris, it was clear that They were much too small to become Rādhā-Parisīśvara! They were kept in a box for some time, until Haṁsadūta Prabhu, at that time in charge of management at Schloss Rettershof, saw Them and simply brought Them with him to Germany.
Back at the Schloss, he asked you more than once over the course of a year if these Deities could be installed, and more than once you answered no. Then, in 1975, without real authorization, Haṁsadūta arranged for the Deity installation. He did not even inform you that he had done it at the time. He considered Their worship an addition to the already installed and worshiped Deities.
At the Māyāpur festival one of the following years, there was an expo, with pictures of Deities from around the world. As you toured the expo you stopped in front of the picture of these beautiful marble Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Madana-mohana Deities and asked, “And who are They?” You were informed that this was Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Madana-mohana at the Schloss, in Germany. You said, “Oh, They are very demanding Deities! They need nine pūjārīs!”
These Deities are the heart of our Goloka Dhāma. They are mesmerizing, attractive, and expert at engaging all the devotees in Their service.
This year we will be celebrating a festival for the fiftieth jubilee anniversary of Their installation. Since it is not so easy for the devotees living there and performing the daily worship of these gorgeous Deities to understand the full significance of Their story and your personal involvement in bringing the choṭa Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa Deities here, we are trying to get whoever attends from among your disciples to speak of the significances of both sets of Deities. (Note to the reader: if you have more information or corrections to what I’ve written here, please let us know.)
The reason I have written this historical account about you and the Deities we worship is because all the devotees serving here at the Goloka Dhāma community today should know the significance and connection that their daily service has to you.
At the last meeting in Māyāpur in 1977, where a report of the books printed and distributed in various languages was presented to you, Germany had distributed 2,125,000 books. How pleased you were to see your books printed and distributed – nothing pleased you more. So toward this end, to increase the mood of the devotees at our temple to do nothing but please you, we have installed a book room we call the Brihat Mridanga in our newly built extension. Now every devotee and guest can pick up a stack of your books for a very reasonable price for further distribution.
For us, dear Śrīla Prabhupāda, we are simply trying to maintain and expand on what you have personally started. That is our main connection to you.
Devotees serving in all capacities at Goloka Dhāma are all (except one, your initiated disciple Viṣṇujasa Prabhu) devotees in the thirteenth and fourteenth generations, as you described it, in the line of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. We know you from your books, your lectures, and from being engaged in your mission. By now, more than fifty-five books have been written by your disciples about you and their personal time with you, and we take great solace in reading about you. That is all we want – to be connected to you and absorbed in your mission of spreading Kṛṣṇa consciousness. We want to represent you to the very best of our capacity.
Thank you for all the beginnings and firsts you brought to this place and for all the devotees you sent and inspired between then and now. You and the devotees who served you sincerely are the reason we have everything here and can serve Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Madana-mohana at Goloka Dhāma, ISKCON Abentheuer, Germany, today.
Your servant,
Mañjula-maṇi Devī Dāsī, on behalf of all Goloka Dhāmīs
Dear Śrīla Prabhupāda,
Please accept my humble obeisances with deep gratitude and utmost humility unto the dust of
your lotus feet. All glories to Your Divine Grace on your most auspicious appearance day, being
a pure representative of Śrīla Vyāsadeva and the disciplic succession. Words are not enough to
describe your unlimited mercy and compassion, the immense contribution to the entire human
race, and your achievements offered for the upliftment and salvation of the entire world.
Being the most ideal representative of Śrīla Vyāsadeva, you came into this world to reestablish
that same eternal truth in the darkest time, Kali-yuga. As a result, there will be ten thousand years
of a golden age within Kali-yuga. Deep within your heart, the divine mission of Śrī Caitanya
Mahāprabhu will be fulfilled, despite the many obstacles and challenges, as is prophesied by our
great ācāryas:
pṛthivīte āche yata nagarādi grāma
sarvatra pracāra haibe mora nāma
From the four corners of the globe you spread the glories of the Supreme Lord, reviving the
dormant love and devotion within countless souls. Who else but a pure devotee and empowered
ācārya could have done this?
To establish a new religion is not the purpose for which you appeared in this world; rather, you
came to revive the eternal religion, which is to reestablish the eternal loving relationship every living
entity has with Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa. It says in Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (6.3.19): dharmaṁ tu sākṣād bhagavat-
praṇītam – real dharma can only be established by God. The direct instructions come from the
Supreme Lord. You showed us that our true dharma is bhakti-yoga, loving devotional service to
Lord Kṛṣṇa, and you reestablished this understanding in a world lost to māyā.
Your books are the foundation of our movement and will be the lawbooks for humanity for
many thousands of years to come. Your temples are embassies to the spiritual world. Your devo-
tees and followers are the messengers, and the only sublime medicine is the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-
mantra. Therefore this will uplift and inspire the conditioned souls year after year after year.
Śrīla Prabhupāda, your most compassionate nature – your feeling for the suffering of all souls –
reveals your inner desire to help them get out of this material world. Even though you were in
bliss serving Kṛṣṇa in Vrindavan, you did not remain there for your own pleasure. Instead, you
took the greatest risk and crossed the ocean, endured hardship, and tolerated rejection – all for
the sake of delivering Kṛṣṇa consciousness to the fallen souls.
Like Prahlāda Mahārāja, you could not bear to see others’ suffering in ignorance. Like Nārada
Muni, you traveled tirelessly, planting seeds of bhakti in every town and village. Like Rūpa
Gosvāmī and Sanātana Gosvāmī, you gave us the perfect philosophical foundation on which to
base our spiritual lives. Moreover, like Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, you freely distributed the holy
names to one and all without discrimination. This is the symptom of a true paramahaṁsa, a pure
devotee whose only concern is to serve Śrī Guru and Śrī Gaurāṅga.
The most precious gift you gave the world was the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra. This transcen-
dental sound vibration is our direct connection to Kṛṣṇa, and its importance cannot be overem-
phasized. “There is no difference between Kṛṣṇa and His name. If we chant Hare Kṛṣṇa without
offense, then we are immediately transported in the spiritual world.”
We are very fortunate to have been introduced to this process of nāma-saṅkīrtana, the very
essence of the yuga-dharma. Through nāma-saṅkīrtana you gave us the means to get out of our
material suffering, awaken our eternal spiritual identity, and reestablish our lost relationship with
Kṛṣṇa.
You said you will live forever as long as your books are being distributed. Your books are
nondifferent from you. They are full of nectarean realizations, saturating us in the knowledge of
tattva-jñāna and lifting us out of ignorance.
You gave us everything:
• Bhagavad-gītā As It Is, the essence of Vedic wisdom.
• Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, the spotless Purāṇa and the ripened fruit of Vedic knowledge.
• Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, the heart of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu’s divine teachings.
• Countless other books, essays, interviews, conversations, and letters, all infused with your
divine realizations.
You assured us, “My books will guide you even after I am gone.” Indeed, they continue to guide
us, generation after generation, leading us back home, back to Godhead.
You can tell a great leader by the greatness of his followers. You transformed mlecchas into dedi-
cated Vaiṣṇavas, purehearted souls willing to sacrifice their lives for Kṛṣṇa’s service. Through your
mercy, people from all backgrounds – hippies, scholars, professionals, artists – became bhakti-
yogis, dedicated to spreading Kṛṣṇa consciousness.
Even today, your disciples, granddisciples, and followers continue your work, building temples,
distributing books, chanting the holy name, and serving ISKCON in countless ways. You estab-
lished a society that will carry your mission forward for generations to come.
O Śrīla Prabhupāda, I am a fallen soul and have no qualification to approach your lotus feet.
However, you have guaranteed that even the most unqualified person can achieve perfection
simply by sincerely following your instructions.
On this most auspicious day, with humility, I offer my service and heart to you. With unflinch-
ing faith in your words, please bless me. Please give me the strength not to deviate from following
your teachings. I pray that you may engage me life after life so that I may serve Their Lordships,
Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Śyāmasundara, Śrī Kṛṣṇa-Balarāma, Śrī Śrī Gaura-Nitāi, and you and your devotees
eternally.
I do not know who you are, but all I know is that I am your insignificant servant. May I always
remain at your feet, hoping to surrender one day. I will always be eager to assist in fulfilling your
divine mission.
Śrīla Prabhupāda kī jaya!
Śrīla Prabhupāda kī jaya!
Śrīla Prabhupāda kī jaya!

You Have Me Moving
You have me moving
Which is for improving
Qualities of magnitude
In character and servitude
It has been over half a century
Since you ignited my energy
Forward in direction
Behind teachers in succession
I’m asked about enthusiasm
Sparing absolutely no sarcasm
I tell them straight – learned from Dad
But major player – reverent Prabhupād
Where I live in the snow drifts
I’ve received many of your gifts
They’ve come to me over the years
In the form of my awesome peers
They shaped me, molded me
Showed me how I should be
Sadly, not all are so active
While Kṛṣṇa is still attractive
I miss them dearly as they pulled me in
Missing their company is a source of chagrin
It’s painful, a separation feeling
It’s natural in such family dealings
Some have perished, some have stayed
Some are on a climb, some are delayed
Men and women, definitely aged
Surely all will be home, fully engaged
I throw gratitude as prostrations
For the friends, my foundations
It is quite the special experience
You are moving me to transcendence
Your servant,
Bhaktimārga Swami

Dear Śrīla Prabhupāda,
nama oṁ viṣṇu-pādāya kṛṣṇa-preṣṭhāya bhū-tale
śrīmate bhaktivedānta-svāmin iti nāmine
I offer my respectful obeisances unto His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami
Prabhupāda, who is very dear to Lord Kṛṣṇa on this earth, having taken shelter at His
lotus feet.
namas te sārasvate deve gaura-vāṇī-pracāriṇe
nirviśeṣa-śūnyavādi-pāścātya-deśa-tāriṇe
Our respectful obeisances are unto you, O spiritual master, servant of Sarasvatī
Gosvāmī. You are kindly preaching the message of Lord Caitanyadeva and delivering
the Western countries, which are filled with impersonalism and voidism.
According to Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, even the briefest association with a pure devotee can bring one
to the perfection of human life. You delivered many conditioned souls from illusion, sometimes
just by your merciful glance. For the person receiving your benediction, such moments were expe-
rienced in a very personal, individual way; yet you were able to give your blessings even while
tending to many persons at once.
Through your instructions, books, mission, and through other devotees, you constantly
brought awareness of a disciple’s eternal relationship with guru and Krsna. After your disap-
pearance, your association was obtainable in the same way provided the follower was submissive.
One time, when a devotee asked whether the spiritual master was in the heart of the disciple, you
replied, “Yes, if you let me enter.”
A wonderful sweet exchange, Śrīla Prabhupāda. However, you had many wonderful qualities.
When you planned the layout of the temple room in Māyāpur, you allowed your disciples to also
take part. “Where can we build a vyāsāsana?” one devotee asked. “Should we put it at the other
end of the temple facing the Deities?” But another devotee objected, “Isn’t that too far for you,
Śrīla Prabhupāda? Will you be able to see the Deities from such a distance?”
You replied strongly, “There is no question of separation of distance between me and Kṛṣṇa.”
So, the vyāsāsana was placed at the opposite end from Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Mādhava, and you could see
Them very nicely.
Śrīla Prabhupāda, there is one quote that I think is very important for your disciples: “If you
feel at all indebted to me, then you should preach vigorously like me. That is the proper way to
repay me. Of course, no one can repay the debt to the spiritual master, but the spiritual master is
very much pleased by such an attitude by the disciple.”
An example of this style of vigorous preaching was in Hawaii. You were discussing how you
were able to defeat the nondevotees’ arguments. “I know the art, like karate,” you said, “of push-
ing on a person’s weak spot until he dies. I find their weak point and push until they die.”
Śrīla Prabhupāda, even with animals you showed your great abilities. One time, when walk-
ing with devotees on a beach in California, a large Doberman pinscher approached, snarling and
baring his teeth. You continued walking peacefully, but a devotee stopped and tensely faced the
dog. This challenge only provoked the dog into more threatening and growling, until the devotee
turned and ran to catch up to you. But as soon as he ran, the Doberman pinscher pursued him,
barking and threatening to attack. Before the dog reached the devotees, however, you suddenly
turned. You crouched with your feet somewhat apart, raised your cane high over your head, and
gave a loud “Hut!” – and made a growling sound at the dog. At this display the dog turned and
retreated quickly back to his home.
Who could do what you did, Śrīla Prabhupāda?
Your task achieved; your time well spent
You went forward with full content.
Teaching even though interest was faint
You were empowered, a mighty saint.
At first, you weren’t accepted a holy sire
Resplendent like gold and a burning fire
But then when your noble words began
They thought you must be a sainted man.
Speaking deep from scripture’s page
Such sweet speech from a holy sage
Many assembled and sat right down
Listening to a saint of pure renown.
With humble palms together laid
An eager supplication you made
What type of life and suffering is this
When one can gain knowledge and bliss.
Forsake, forsake your mortal lot
And gain a life that withers not
Receive unending youth and be
Immortal, my dear friends, with me.
A fickle thing is youth’s brief span
And more than all in mortal man
In many ways you worked and strained
But none of these could be sustained.
And now, I think, has come the time
To surrender to Kṛṣṇa in your prime.
Patience is needed and patience is fame
Especially when employed for eternal gain.
Please go forward without any fear
Do something for the soul that is dear
Wonderful indeed, just, true and brave
Take heed of the counsel I gave.
Beloved friends, never forget
Service to Kṛṣṇa, everyone’s debt
All of you go forth the spiritual way
Work to be done and foundations to lay.
Dear Prabhupāda, you earned success
And won high fame which God did bless
And thou hast gained the mead divine
That waits on virtue such as thine.
You rose like the sun’s pure bright ray
Powerful that drives the darkness away
And thou did win a glorious name
Which none, O guru, but thou could claim.
And all the world was glad, whereon
Your glorious feats flowed and shone
For sin and stain were banished thence
By your sweet mercy influence.
Dear master, let my prayer prevail
For I always want to hear your tale
As sun and moon adorn the sky
Your amazing qualities we glorify.
Your fallen servant
