Vyāsa-pūjā 2018

Jaitra dāsa (London - Soho Street - United Kingdom)

Dear  Guru Maharaj

Please accept my humble obeisances on your 69th Vyasa Puja. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Bhagavad Gita 4.2 Transcendental Knowledge
evam parampara-praptam
imam rajarsayo viduh

"This supreme science was thus received through the chain of disciplic succession, and the saintly kings understood it in that way."

Thank you for providing the book of your collected lectures 2016 Vyasa Puja called “Towards Krsna’s Abode” . When I read it I feel your spiritual presence and it is very calming. The devotees’ responsible for the transcription of your lectures  should be showered with blessings for doing such a good transcendental job!

One evening I was on the internet and it suddenly stopped working. The internet service provider was contacted and they said they were having a problem. This reminded me of a saying my class teacher use to use quite a lot “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket “

I suddenly realised that many devotees are only dependent on the internet for access to Srila Prabhupada’s books as well as your lectures and if this ever stopped working they would be without sadhu sangha (association) Sadhu meaning parampara association.

We live in the kali yuga period of time where conflict is the norm and increasing. History has shown us that in times of war governments severely restrict access to information. My suggestion is that each devotee should at least have a handful of books in hard copy form so they are not entirely dependent on the internet for parampara knowledge.

Srila Prabhupada used the example of Lenin’s distribution of literature as an example of how effective mass distribution of new ideas can influence the masses. If the internet had existed at the time of Lenin and his followers only used the internet would it not have been easy to stop his influence by restricting  mass access to the internet ?
I have presented the above  suggestion before your transcendental vision because
“Your Lordship is my only means of getting out of this darkest region of ignorance because You are my transcendental eye, which, by Your mercy only, I have attained after many, many births.”  Srimad Bhagavatam 3.25. 8

On this most auspicious day of your Vyasa puja I humbly request a blessing for my nephew Tristan Govinda. I have been cultivating him since he was a child. I took him  and his brother Hari to the temple in London on Lord Nityananda’a appearance day when they were children and from then on regularly for the Deity greeting/guru puja/class/prasadam.

Some years ago Tristan Govinda  developed muscular cramps accompanied by severe pain when he tries to move. Even the top doctors cannot diagnose what it is. To avoid the cramps and pain, he spends most of his time sleeping and he has to be carried around the house. When he is awake he chants and reads. His parents are in complete despair as to what to do as they are powerless. I also don’t know what to do. He is now 19 years old  and the problem is still there.

I joined ISKCON in 1980 and since then, one of the things I have been trying to do is to help my relatives become devotees of Krsna, but to no avail. My nephew Tristan Govinda is very popular with all the relatives and I think he would greatly influence them all. He is a good speaker. So on this most auspicious day of your Vyasa Puja I humbly request some blessing for him to remove this health obstacle so he can go forward in his development into a faithful Vaisnava.

Please forgive all offences, my requests were not for my self but to give transcendental benefit to others .

Thank you for all your transcendental instructions and prayers throughout the years. Looking forward to many  more years of your leadership.
Every step you take, every word you say is a victory in spreading the holy name to every town and village.
