Devakī Rūpa devī dāsī (Florence - Villa Vrindavan - Italy)

arjuna uvaca

krsna krsna maha-baho, bhaktanam abhayankara, tvam eko dahyamananam, apavargo 'si samsrteh

“TRANSLATION - Arjuna said: O my Lord Sri Krsna, You are the almighty Personality of Godhead. There is no limit to Your different energies. Therefore only You are competent to instill fearlessness in the hearts of Your devotees. Everyone in the flames of material miseries can find the path of liberation in You only.

PURPORT - Arjuna was aware of the transcendental qualities of Lord Sri Krsna, as he had already experienced them during the Kuruksetra War, in which both of them were present. Therefore, Arjuna's version of Lord Krsna is authoritative. Krsna is almighty and is especially the cause of fearlessness for the devotees. A devotee of the Lord is always fearless because of the protection given by the Lord. Material existence is something like a blazing fire in the forest, which can be extinguished by the mercy of the Lord Sri Krsna. The spiritual master is the mercy representative of the Lord. Therefore, a person burning in the flames of material existence may receive the rains of mercy of the Lord through the transparent medium of the self-realized spiritual master. The spiritual master, by his words, can penetrate into the heart of the suffering person and inject transcendental knowledge, which alone can extinguish the fire of material existence.” (Srimad Bhagavatam 1.7.22)

Dear Glorious Srila Gurudeva, please accept my most heartfelt and respectful obeisances unto your lotus feet. On this very auspicious day of Your Vyasa Puja I would like to reaffirm my immense gratitude to Your Divine Grace for saving me every single day from the troublesome ocean of material suffering. Without your crystal clear example of tolerance at the many obstacles life presents, I would succumb. You are really an endless ocean of mercy and very gentle with this fallen soul, a wonderful and Real Father, indeed “the mercy representative of the Lord”. That sloka from the Srimad Bhagavatam is so evident and easy to understand when looking at Your Divine Grace activities.

My desire is to keep serving Your lotus feet even if my mind tries to distract me, even if my ego is never ending, even if circumstances are sometimes adverse, whatever comes please keep me close to Your lotus feet. I am so weak but You are such a stable and strong anchor.

Dear Srila Gurudeva Thank You! Please accept again and again my respectful obeisances.

Your unqualified servant
