Vyāsa-pūjā 2021

Shilpa (Nottingham - United Kingdom)

Hare Krishna Dearest Gurumaharaj,

Please accept my respectful obeisance at your lotus feet. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. All glories to you on the most auspicious day of your 72nd Vyasa Puja!

Gurudeva, you are an ocean of mercy. Your love for Lord Gauranga and Chaitanya-Lila inspires me so much. You are my biggest inspiration and strength. Words cannot express how fortunate I have been to receive your association, instruction and guidance. Whenever I face any difficulty, I think about your instruction to “always tolerate all difficulties…always continue serving Guru and Gauranga”. It is really amazing to see how, despite your health condition, you continue to give Krishna Consciousness to everyone you meet.

Gurudeva, I would like to take this opportunity to inform you about my spiritual progress since last year. Since the pandemic, I have moved back home to Nottingham and have been working from home for the past 1 year. I have felt this pandemic to be a blessing in disguise Gurumaharaj. When I was working in London, I found it very difficult to listen to classes or read but the pandemic has given me so much time that I have been daily reading Srila Prabhupada’s books and your books. Recently, I have been reading many of your books including Vaishnava Vani, Godruma Kalpatavi, Vaishnava Ke, Toward Krishna’s Abode, Showers of Nectar and Spiritual Awakening. I pray that I may hold your instructions deep within my heart and serve you continually.

I am also continuing my Bhakti Sastri studies and am currently on the third module which is Bhagavad Gita. I have also recently started taking Sanskrit lessons so that I can write and recite the verses properly.

Since January 2021, I have also been giving short classes on the Nectar of Instruction to my Namahatta community and I have been encouraged by the senior devotees in Nottingham to start giving Isopanisad classes next month and share what I have learnt from my studies. It is only with your kind mercy and blessings that I am able to do or understand anything Gurumaharaj.

Gurudeva, I took shelter from you in November 2019 and am continuing my sadhana of 16 rounds daily and following the regulative principles. I am really trying everyday to improve my japa but still I have many shortcomings. I sincerely desire to be able to chant with the mood of desperation and love for Krsna.

I pray to Lord Nrsimhadeva to always keep you safe and healthy so that you can continue to serve Srila Prabhupada’s mission.

 Your aspiring servant,

Bhaktin Shilpa (Nottingham, England)
