Vyāsa-pūjā 2023

Paramapriyā Gopīnātha dāsa (Sydney - Australia)

My dear spiritual father Śrīla Jayapatākā Swami Guru Mahārāja,

All glories to you and glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda!

nama oṁ viṣṇu-pādāya kṛṣṇa-preṣṭhāya bhū-tale
śrīmate jayapatāka svāmin iti nāmine
nama ācaryapādāya nitāi-kṛpā-pradāyine
gaura-kathā-dhāma-dāya nagara-grāma-tāriṇe

Please accept my most fallen obeisance at your lotus feet, which is liked the soothing moon giving shelter to unlimited conditioned souls. This eulogy is my prayer for atonement and purification. Its only because of your causeless mercy that you give me this opportunity to be protected with your love and care, whilst I have made so many mistakes.

As we traverse in this material world, I get blindsided by the material dealings with non-devotees and devotees including my seniors, godbrothers and sisters. Being a pure devotee of Kṛṣṇa you keep reminding me when I get lost and digress more and more into material world, it’s a place of duḥkālayam and aśāśvatam through your lectures and virtual home visits.

Dear Gurudeva, You have such a firm faith in the instructions of your spiritual master hence you became the instrument in realizing Śrīla Prabhupāda prediction and instructions, including him awarding your name Jayapatākā, Victory Flag. This Victory flag carries a great spiritual significance as it represents the victory of the saṅkīrtana movement of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, the victory of ācāryās in their efforts to preach Gaurāṅga’s message, the victory of establishing Śrīdhāma Māyāpur tīrtha place and victory of Śrīla Prabhupāda in fulfilling all the above as the senāpati-bhakta, commander-in-chief of Lord Caitanya’s saṅkīrtana Kṛṣṇa conscious army, befitting your glorious services.

When you are offering prayers on to Śrīla Prabhupāda, I can see the eyes gleaming looking at Śrīla Prabhupāda and sense your earnest prayer for all devotees under your care and responsibility. I now realize that this prayer and your dīkṣā is the only thread of love holding me securely from falling into the miserably abyss. I don’t want to fall into this. So beg your mercy to hold me and my family securely under your divine protection and care.

You have blessed me and my wife by giving us dīkṣā, blessed our child when he was in the womb and also blessed by giving him name and his first anna-prāśana and many other countless blessings. Our daily practice and sincerity to my Kṛṣṇa consciousness being the only way to awaken myself from this drowning misery of material world, I long and pray to Lordships how we as a family can develop such sincere and loving affectionate bond of selfless service as time wanes away. With your causeless mercy and śīkṣā-guru’s guidance and devotees support, we got the inspiration during last year Dāmodara month to get over 18 thousand people from different backgrounds and religions requesting them to show lamps. Some of them have expressed interest to Kṛṣṇa consciousness programs and others have purchased Kṛṣṇa conscious books including Bhagavad-gītā which was my first ever endeavor of book distribution in my life. I don’t think both me and my wife have any Kṛṣṇa conscious innate abilities, and just by your mercy we believe your can help us cross this material ocean to offer our pure selves to the service of guru, Gaurāṅga and Śrī Śrī Rādhā Gopīnātha.

On this auspicious day, the insignificant servants of yours would like to beg you for your causeless mercy so that we may be able to help expand your mission of fulfilling Śrīla Prabhupāda’s instructions. I also pray that we may always remain true to your transcendental instructions and be eternally engaged in your service.

Your insignificant servants,

Paramapriyā Gopīnātha Dāsa, Nandinī Haripriyā Devī Dāsī and Bhakta Ojas
