Vyāsa-pūjā 2023

Vaikuṇṭhapati Dāsa (Mumbai - Juhu - India)

My dear Spiritual Father,

Hare Kṛṣṇa! Please accept our respectful obeisances. All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda and to your lotus feet.

mahājano yena gataḥ sa panthāḥ

The real path of progress is that which is traversed by great ācāryas and authorities.

You are a perfect example for the above statement. You undeviatingly follow whatever Śrīla Prabhupāda and the previous acharyas in the paramparā have said.

Śrīla Prabhupāda said that everyone should do Bhakti-śāstrī, Bhakti-vaibhava, Bhakti-vedānta etc. During your younger days you were busy fulfilling Śrīla Prabhupāda’s desire of reclaiming the glory of Māyāpur and did not have enough time to do these courses. But now in this difficult situation you have completed Bhakti-vaibhava and are encouraging all your disciples to do Vedic courses. By your example you are teaching your disciples that age doesn’t matter but following the instructions of guru matters.

Another lesson you impart is that a devotee is a ‘paropakāri.’ Every day you pray for all your disciples and known persons for their spiritual progress. It is not that you are in the best of situations but in spite of all physical infirmities you are interested in the welfare of all devotees. That is a great lesson to learn.

Another important lesson you want all the devotees to learn is to be very careful against Vaiṣṇava aparādhas. You repeat this point in many of your lectures.

Guru Mahārāja, on this auspicious day of your Vyāsa-pūjā I humbly beg your mercy to forgive me and my wife for all the various aparādhas that we may have committed knowingly and unknowingly towards you, guru-paramparā and the Vaiṣṇavas. Also, our humble prayers to you to bless us with love for Rādhā Mādhava, Pañca-tattva, the guru-paramparā and the Vaiṣṇavas.

We also pray on this auspicious day to all the Vaiṣṇavas, guru-paramparā, Pañca-tattva and Rādhā-Mādhava to give you a long life free from all ailments.

Hare Kṛṣṇa!

Your humble servants,

Vaikuṇṭhapati Dāsa
