Vyāsa-pūjā 2023

Maheśa Gaura Govinda Dāsa (Dāmodara Deśa - Middle East)

Dear Guru Mahārāja,

Please accept my humble obeisances to Your lotus feet.

Guru Mahārāja, You have been very merciful to me and my family. It is because of Your mercy that we have the good fortune of serving Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa. It is because of Your mercy that I can chant the Holy name. It is because of Your mercy that we have the good fortune of serving His Divine Grace Śrīla Prabhupāda and be a part of this movement.

Guru Mahārāja, please bless us so that we can take inspiration from the way You have dedicated Your life to serve Your spiritual master Śrīla Prabhupāda despite Your physical difficulties. How dear You must be to Śrī Kṛṣṇa for Your faithful service to Śrīla Prabhupāda. You are always absorbed in service to Your spiritual master, setting such an exalted example for all disciples to follow.

You are such an expert preacher Guru Mahārāja, each time I hear you speak I am amazed at how you are able to say exactly what I need to hear. I remember your instructions to me; they are my inspiration. You are such a personalist. The way you develop and maintain such personal relationships with everyone surely testifies to your realization of your personal relationship with Kṛṣṇa. You show such compassion to the living entities who are in a state of forgetfulness of Kṛṣṇa, by constantly preaching and giving so much of your time, guidance and care.

You are so merciful that you have given me this opportunity of devotional service. You give me so much of your time, guidance and care, always making sure that I understand and always giving me so much more than I give you. Thank you, Gurudeva for picking me up and showing me there is something higher than temporary so-called material pleasure. I am forever in your debt Guru Mahārāja.

Kṛṣṇa says in Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (10.80.34):

I, the soul of all beings, am not as satisfied by ritual worship, brahminical initiation, penances or self-discipline as I am by faithful service rendered to one's spiritual master.

On this special day, I beg You to give me inspiration, intelligence, determination and strength to serve Your lotus feet and be able to chant the Holy name. I can never actually express to you how much I appreciate you and all that you give me and how much effort you put to try to teach me. I can only try to serve you, and please allow me to remain Your humble servant eternally.

Your humble servant eternally,

Maheśa Gaura Govinda Dāsa
