Vyāsa-pūjā 2023

Penelope Alexander ( - United Kingdom)

My dear spiritual father Srila Gurumaharaja,

Please accept my respectful obeisances.

All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

All glories to Your Divine Grace.

You have traveled the world spreading lord Chaitanya's mercy and are continuing to do so through many physical challenges, it is amazing how you have given your life to prabhupada and have spread Krishna consciousness everywhere.

Thank you Srila Gurumaharaja for giving me so much mercy and compassion since the first time I met you. One of my only memories from when I was younger, was when me and my dad were running across the car park of the venue you had just given class in, to take darshan of you before you left to your accommodation. We got to your car just as you were about to drive away and you waved at me through the window.

Another time, you were cycling through the shopping mall in croydon and we were following you and you kept waving at me but I was looking somewhere else but then I  finally realized that you were doing this and waved back.

In lockdown you started giving online Chaitanya lila classes and home visits every day. This  was so merciful of you to do this every afternoon without fail. So just for these classes, I would cook something for you, offer it to our altar at home and then give it to you on home visits. But the most amazing part was how sometimes as I would offer you the prasad I had prepared you would say my name and it was so amazing to think that you knew my name.

And lastly, you were staying in birmingham the day before your  50th sanyas anniversary and I was asked by some devotees if I would like to clean your kitchen so I obviously said yes and went to clean it and then the next day, although I hadn’t planned to, I took aspiring from you and the first thing I said when I went back to where I had been sitting before was “Did that really happen?”

Please bless me that I may be able to take shelter of you in the future and that I can continue to chant 16 rounds of Hare Krishna every day.

Your aspiring spiritual daughter

Penelope
