Vyāsa-pūjā 2024

Nareśa Caitanya dāsa (Dāmodara Deśa - Middle East)

Dear Gurudeva,

This year having newly taken shelter at your lotus feet, gave me the opportunity to inspect my daily activities and actions so that I could fulfill my vow of strengthening and becoming more serious in my spiritual life. While doing so I realized the dearth of any qualification or good qualities in me and understood the fact that your shelter is undeserving but rather is a display of your causeless mercy.

The more I read Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books and hear his lectures I find that the same books and lectures can invoke deeper and deeper levels of realizations when heard multiple times, “Everything is there in my books! “Śrīla Prabhupāda said, and so when I analyze your instructions and actions on even daily activities, I see a person who has understood Śrīla Prabhupāda heart and lives for Śrīla Prabhupāda and Gaurāṅga Mahāprabhu’s pleasure, this deeply inspired. Therefore, I pray at your lotus feet that one day I also maybe able to follow Śrīla Prabhupāda teachings for the pleasure of Lord Gaura Nitāi.

The Lordships Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya and Prabhu Nityānanda are the most munificent incarnation of the Lord because they liberally distributed the Transcendental Wealth of Śrī Goloka Dhāma -Harināma Saṅkīrtana without any distinction on any basis, However their Senapati Bhakta Śrīla Prabhupāda distributed this holy name to places where even the lordships did not go to directly, Śrīla Prabhupāda in his divine mission penetrated the hearts of even those who were the most fallen and bereft of spiritual culture. But you Gurudeva have brought that ultra munificent Śrīla Prabhupāda into my most unfortunate life, therefore I eternally indebted to you.

On this auspicious day of your Vyāsa-pūjā I desired to glorify you with beautiful shlokas from the shastras and eloquent speech but I am unable to do so due to lack of intelligence, Śrīla Prabhupāda once said that enthusiasm is essential in Kṛṣṇa consciousness because it acts as a driving force for progress therefore although I dare to enthusiastically desire an opportunity in this where I am allowed to engage in your service for the pleasure of Śrīla Prabhupāda and Gaur Nitāi.

It is said in the sastras that Lord Kṛṣṇa although self-satisfied and not in need of anything is extremely pleased by even the smallest efforts by his devotees, just like a parent derives happiness from the child’s babbling, I pray that in the same way, you accept this offering from your insignificant disciple.

Your most unqualified disciple
