Hare Kṛṣṇa Dear Guru Mahārāja,

Guru Mahārāja, this year I got initiated from you. Although I really wanted this; to be your disciple, I genuinely feel very unworthy of being your disciple. I am an extremely incompetent devotee, incapable of following basic commitments. Theoretically, I am aware about the necessities of approaching a guru, surrendering unto that soul, and taking guidance in the form of vapu / vāṇī from such a personality. However, I am so genuinely fallen I do not know how to actually do any of this. In fact, the only emotion I have in my heart, is immense gratitude for you. Guru Mahārāja, you have saved my life, and I can never forget it. In 2020, when I was in the most disturbed phase of my life, I received your mercy and you picked me up from the “hog civilization” lifestyle I took pride in leading.

Guru Mahārāja, you have such a busy schedule. Despite this, I am so touched you take out the time to have a personal connection with your disciples. Last year, I wrote to you seeking blessings for spiritual growth because I felt so lazy and incapable of overcoming my mind’s ability to procrastinate any spiritual endeavor. You painstakingly wrote back to me and gave me advice on sleeping early, waking up early, regular reading and trying to watch your Śrī Caitanya Sīkṣāmṛtam classes online. Guru Mahārāja, I am trying to follow these instructions.

Guru Mahārāja, I want to take inspiration from you, but your ability to utilise every millisecond in the service of Śrīla Prabhupāda is uncomparable and unachievable by any common soul. I was shocked that after your fever, when you recently travelled back from Calcutta to Māyāpur, and after attending a two hour TOVP meeting in the road journey, you gave a class in Rājāpur, and then you proceeded to the Chandrodaya Mandir to do arti, and then gave Caitanya Sīkṣāmṛtam Class shortly thereafter. Even in the initiation lecture, your disciples were narrating several sweet pastimes of yours, they described that just for your disciples, you sacrificed sleep and many bodily needs.

Guru Mahārāja, thank you for setting an example and pursuing Bhakti Vedānta, despite your extremely busy schedule. Thank you for emphasizing, time and again, that we need to be regularly reading Śrīla Prabhupāda’s literature. Thank you for travelling all around the globe to stress the urgency of human form of life, and to quickly achieve perfection just by chanting, dancing and feasting. Thank you for all the recordings you meticulously recorded for the international Navadvīpa-maṇḍala parikramā, because I felt your personal presence in the parikramā. Thank you for updating your app with your everyday activities – through this, I am able to get an insight into your daily activities, and get to know about your health. Thank you for sacrificing your life for uplifting absolutely useless disciples like me. Thank you for praying for, and blessing your disciples – it is only with your mercy, a lazy person like me is able to follow the four regulative principles and chant minimum 16 rounds every day.

Thank you, Guru Mahārāja, for leading kīrtana in the Kīrtana Mela and showing us the importance of saṅkīrtana in this age.

Thank you, Guru Mahārāja, for doing so much for me despite not receiving any service from me. Lastly, thank you to your glorious personal servants who are working round the clock to take care of you, so that we are able to get your darśana in person or online.

Guru Mahārāja, I sincerely pray to Śrī Narasiṁhadeva, Śrī Śrī Pañca-tattva, and Śrī Śrī Rādhā Mādhava, that your health improves.

Hare Kṛṣṇa, daṇḍavat pranams, Guru Mahārāja!

Your most useless disciple,

Anuttama Haripradā Devī Dāsī
