Vyāsa-pūjā 2024

Nayana Mañjarī devī dāsī (Washington D.C. - United States of America)

My dear Spiritual Father,

Please accept my respectful obeisances. All glories to Your Divine Grace. All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda.

I was reading Caitanya-caritāmṛta and came across a verse, the translation and purport of which says:

TRANSLATION: By remembering the lotus feet of the Pañca-tattva, a dumb man can become poet, a lame man can cross mountains, and a blind man can see the stars in the sky.

PURPORT: In Vaiṣṇava philosophy there are three ways for perfection namely, sādhana-siddha, perfection attained by executing devotional service according to the rules and regulations, nitya-siddha, eternal perfection attained by never forgetting Kṛṣṇa at any time, and kṛpā-siddha, perfection attained by the mercy of the spiritual master or a Vaiṣṇava. Kavirāja Gosvāmī here stresses kṛpā-siddha, perfection by the mercy of superior authorities. This mercy does not depend on the qualifications of a devotee. By such mercy, even if a devotee is dumb, he can speak or write to glorify the Lord splendidly, even if lame he can cross mountains, and even if blind he can see the stars in the sky.

While reading this I was thinking of my good fortune of having been accepted by Your Divine Grace as your insignificant disciple. The goal of life is to attain love for Śrī Kṛṣṇa and finally make it back to Godhead and that is exactly what Your Divine Grace wants for all his disciples. As far as I am concerned it’s only and only by your causeless mercy upon me Gurudeva that eventually someday, I will attain this goal as I have no qualification to achieve it on my own especially because of having so many anarthas. Living in the forest fire of this material world, being under the cooling shade of Your Divine Grace’s shelter and your ahaitukī mercy is my only hope. I am so blessed and relieved to be under Your Divine Grace’s shelter, care, and guidance. Not only me and my family dear Gurudeva but you have given your mercy to two of my sisters also by accepting them as your disciples.

Thank you so much for your ocean like causeless mercy and love upon us. There is no hope for me in this hopeless world without Your Divine Grace’s blessings, for which I am forever indebted. Realizing Māyā devī is very, very powerful, I beg your divine grace to please keep me under your divine grace’s shelter always. Please bless me that even in dreams I never do anything, even by mistake, to offend Your Divine Grace. Counting my blessings and feeling grateful, on the auspicious day of Vyāsa-pūjā I pray for your divine grace’s good health and well-being. I pray to Śrī Śrī Prahlāda Narasiṁhadeva, Śrī Śrī Pañca-tattva and Śrī Śrī Rādhā Mādhava and Jagannātha, Baladeva, Subhadrā Mayī and Sudarśana cakra to bestow Their choicest blessings on Your Divine Grace today and always. Thank you for everything,

In gratitude,

Your insignificant daughter,

Nayana Mañjarī Devī Dāsī
