In SB 3.5.3 Vidura speaks to sage Maitreya-
janasya kṛṣṇād vimukhasya daivād
adharma-śīlasya suduḥkhitasya
anugrahāyeha caranti nūnaṁ
bhūtāni bhavyāni janārdanasya
O my lord, great philanthropic souls travel on the earth on behalf of the Supreme Personality of Godhead to show compassion to the fallen souls who are averse to the sense of subordination to the Lord. (SB 3.5.3).
Srila Prabhupada used to say that preaching is the best philanthropic work and those who are engaged in it are most munificient ( bhurida janah).
Dear Gurumaharaj, you are one of these great philanthropic souls who appear in this Earthly planet, only to uplift and deliver the ignorant conditioned souls like me by making them situated in the constitutional position of eternal loving servitorship to the Supreme Lord Krishna.
Srila Prabhupada is the Commander-in-chief of the transcendental Sankirtan army of Sriman Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and you are one of the great warriors in that team. Despite inconceivable physical problems and tremendous suffering over many years, you are always serving Srila Prabhupada, from morning to night 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, always making efforts to spread Krishna consciousness far and wide throughout the world. You are a dear associate of Mahaprabhu, as declared by Srila Prabhupada and you are thus spreading the ecstatic love of Gauranga to the unfortunate residents of this material world. To give us the merciful shelter of the merciful Lord Gauranga Mahaprabhu, you have undertaken countless services and responsibilities on your shoulders like developing Mayapur Dham, developing Navadvipa mandala, building the TOVP and many new temples, large scale book distribution, congregation development, food for life program, extensive devotee care and GBC responsibilities to name some. Who can conceive your endeavours and your commitment to please Srila Prabhupada!
Dear merciful father, I am a very ungrateful and thoroughly shameless aspiring disciple of yours. Truly speaking, I have no qualities to become a disciple. Yet, I beg for the shelter of your lotus feet, which is the most wonderful, beautiful and secure shelter in the whole creation. You are causelessly merciful and magnanimous, because you spread the most treasured mercy of Mahaprabhu. I fall down at your lotus feet with a strand of grass between my teeth, begging for the charity of the seed of Krishna Bhakti. By your merciful glance, may I get cleansed of all anarthas and be fixed in the service of your servants. I want to dedicate my life in your service and become an instrument in your lotus hand to fulfill Srila Prabhupada’s mission.
I aspire to become a humble, chaste and sold out servant of your servants. Please accept me.
An insignificant striver of your mercy,
Srijeeta Pal
