Vyāsa-pūjā 2022

Shilpa Kumar (Nottingham - United Kingdom)

Hare Kṛṣṇa Dearest Guru Mahārāja,

Please accept my respectful obeisances at your lotus feet. All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda. All glories to you on the most auspicious occasion of your 73rd Vyāsa-pūjā.

Every year on your Vyāsa-pūjā I feel so grateful to The Lord that he has allowed you to stay with us. I am always praying for your good health so that you can continue to spread Kṛṣṇa Consciousness. I was very happy to hear that you have recently resumed your travels starting with Dubai and pray that you are able to visit the UK soon as we are eagerly waiting for your darśan.

Your deep compassion and love is limitless, and I am constantly in awe of your remarkable qualities. Whenever I face any anxiety or my mind becomes disturbed, I simply think of you and suddenly every problem feels so insignificant. I am so grateful to be in this Kṛṣṇa Consciousness movement, and to you, my dear spiritual father, for your guidance, love, and care.

I wanted to take this opportunity to inform you of how my sadhana is going and I sincerely hope it pleases you. I am nearing the end of my Bhakti Śāstrī course and aim to complete it by July 2022. It has been a wonderful journey so far and has inspired me to read Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books daily, which I am still continuing to do. I also read your new book, Milwaukee to Māyāpur, which was incredible. It beautifully highlighted the love and devotion that you have towards your Guru, Śrīla Prabhupāda, and the steadfast determination to carry out his instructions and your willingness to put up with bodily hardships in order to serve him and The Lord. You are a shining example of what it means to serve Guru and I aspire to follow in your footsteps and do the same for you.

Some of my services include doing book distribution on the streets of London every weekend and I started doing the 7pm transfer service at ISKCON Soho last year. It is only by your causeless mercy that I have been given these opportunities to serve the Lord and become His instrument.

Please bless me dear Guru Mahārāja so that I can follow your instructions, remain steady in my sadhana, always remember the ultimate goal of life, which is to love and serve Kṛṣṇa, and facilitate the devotional service of other living entities. Please also bless me so that I can become humble and a genuine well wisher of others.

Your aspiring servant,
