Īśvarī Lalitā Devī Dāsī (Pune - India)

Respected Guru Mahārāja,

Please accept my most respectful obeisances at your lotus feet.

nama oṁ viṣṇu-pādāya kṛṣṇa-preṣṭhāya bhū-tale
śrīmate jayapatāka svāmin iti nāmine
nama ācāryapādāya nitāi-kṛpā-pradāyine

All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda!
All glories to you!

Every year at least once you kindly give us this opportunity to meditate upon you and your divine qualities. People like me, who are so self-engrossed, hardly acknowledge the mercy of their guru in their lives. So today, I need your and the guru-paramparā’s mercy to become a little selfless and reflective on you.

Once I remember His Holiness Bhakti Vijaya Bhāgavat Swami Mahārāja said that to know what is going on in your heart, we need to hear your Saturday Bhāgavatam class. I took that message seriously and have noticed that you keep stressing several points regularly in class—e.g., guiding and caring for the visitors to Śrīdhāma Māyāpur, becoming a paramahaṁsa while being a gṛhastha, raising children as ācāryas, and many more.

Also, on your Jayapatākā Swami App, you update your activities daily, and those updates amaze me—how you never waste your time. Better to say, you do not reserve any time for māyā; you simply engage yourself in Śrīla Prabhupāda’s and Kṛṣṇa’s service. Even while your dialysis is going on, you utilize that time—either in speech therapy or correspondence. Further, you are doing the Bhaktivedānta course and giving assessments on that, which is not required for you to do, as you are already the knower of the Absolute Truth. I wonder sometimes—to what extent do you go to motivate and inspire us to take up this Kṛṣṇa consciousness seriously?

In spite of your poor health and tiring schedule, you regularly give Caitanya-śikṣāmṛta class, where the devotees relish your class and are able to witness your love and ecstasy for your dearmost Lord Caitanya.

On this most auspicious day, I humbly pray at your lotus feet to give me some drop of mercy so that my heart becomes grateful to your magnanimous personality, your contribution in my life may get the highest acknowledgement, and I may someday be able to reciprocate with your love and fulfill your desire for me.

In a few days, by your blessings, we are welcoming a child. I pray for that soul also—that he or she may remain always faithful to Śrīla Prabhupāda and carry forward this mission of Lord Caitanya. I also seek your mercy so that my husband and I may become more and more Kṛṣṇa conscious day by day and set an example for the child and for society.

Hare Kṛṣṇa! Gaurāṅgaaaa!

Your spiritual daughter,
