All Glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda!

All Glories to Your Auspicious Appearance Day, Guru Mahārāja!

Dear Guru Mahārāja,

By your mercy, you embraced me and my family into the family of ISKCON during the period I was working in Dubai. At that time, in the beginning, the real meaning and benefits of the Mahā-mantra had not yet touched the depths of my heart. As time has passed and I have grown older (I am 75 years old now), I have come to deeply realize the great mercy you bestowed upon me by accepting me as one of your disciples.

Only the Hare Kṛṣṇa Mahā-mantra and the teachings of ISKCON have relieved us from the endless cycle of material life and helped us progress toward the ultimate goal. Your mercy has allowed me to understand that it is only through one's own enthusiastic self-preparation that one can attain the supreme destination.

I wish to share an understanding I gained from a visit to Jagannātha Purī Dhāma, Odisha, a few years ago.

The daily offering of Chappan Bhoga—56 varieties of preparations—distributed to devotees and visitors undoubtedly proves that Lord Jagannātha, who resides in this temple, is the supreme provider for all living beings in this world. No other temple in the world distributes such a variety of dishes daily.

Lord Jagannātha’s special form, with His stretched-out arms, signifies two important truths. First, He is embracing everyone in this world, inviting them to come to Him. Second, with His four arms, He is the only Lord who feeds the entire world. All varieties of crops and vegetation grown in this universe are cooked and distributed only by His mercy, sustaining every living being, no matter where they reside.

Every human being receives three meals a day solely by His causeless mercy.

This is my humble tribute, dear Guru Mahārāja, in gratitude for your mercy and to remind myself of my eternal indebtedness to you.

May Lord Narasiṁha protect your health so you may continue your invaluable service, which gives strength and direction to all our activities.

May Lord Gaurāṅga bless you with unlimited spiritual strength.

On this auspicious occasion of your Vyāsa-pūjā, we offer all glories, all glories, all glories unto you!

Your eternal servant,
Jagatguru-kṛṣṇa Dāsa
