Vyāsa-pūjā 2025

Sucitra Susevikā Devī Dāsī (Sydney - Australia)

Hare Kṛṣṇa, Guru Mahārāja,

Please accept my respectful obeisances at the dust of your lotus feet on the auspicious occasion of your 76th Vyāsa-pūjā.

All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda!

Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Ādi-līlā 1.45 states:

guru kṛṣṇa-rūpa hana śāstrera pramāṇe
guru-rūpe kṛṣṇa kṛpā karena bhakta-gaṇe

"According to the verdict of the śāstra, the spiritual master is non-different from Kṛṣṇa. In the form of the guru, Kṛṣṇa bestows His mercy upon the devotees."

Guru Mahārāja, this verse truly comes to life when I think of you. Your mercy and kindness have always guided me, even when I felt lost and undeserving.

Last year, I couldn’t attend your Vyāsa-pūjā in Māyāpur, although my family was there. Due to an urgent matter, I was in Delhi, and it deeply upset me. I felt immense remorse, blaming myself for missing such an important occasion. But you knew my heart’s desire, and in your kindness, you fulfilled it.

When my daughter informed me that you would be personally present at your Vyāsa-pūjā at ISKCON Noida, I was overjoyed to attend. Seeing you in person at that moment was overwhelming—I couldn’t stop my tears. Kṛṣṇa had arranged for me to be with you despite all odds. Even when I felt hopeless about missing the celebration, Kṛṣṇa’s mercy brought me to your lotus feet.

Your life itself is a lesson in dedication and surrender. From Milwaukee to Māyāpur, your journey has been one of unwavering devotion. No physical hardship or obstacle has ever deterred you from your service. I have seen how, despite challenges, you tirelessly continue serving and inspiring devotees. Even when it was difficult to move, you still engaged in service, proving that devotion transcends all limitations.

On Saturdays, through the internet, I have been blessed to hear from you. Even when I was far away, your guidance reached me, keeping me spiritually connected. Your care and affection have always made me feel included, no matter where I was.

You have been like a pillar in my life. Your presence, your instructions, and your encouragement have given me the strength to continue on this path. Even when I have struggled, your words have uplifted me. Just as the sun removes darkness, you have removed my ignorance and shown me the light of Kṛṣṇa consciousness.

You have given me the greatest giftcakṣu-dāna, the vision to see beyond this material world.

"Cakṣu-dāna dilo jei, janme janme prabhu sei."
"My spiritual master opens my darkened eyes and fills my heart with transcendental knowledge. He is my Lord, birth after birth."

Even when I have faced difficulties, I have looked to you and found inspiration. Your commitment, despite physical hardships, has taught me that service should never stop. You always ensure that everyone is cared for and treat all—including your disciples—with utmost humility. You made it possible for me to attend Vyāsa-pūjā by making arrangements for me.

Your words are my only shelter.

"Guru-mukha-padma-vākya, cittete koriyā aikya,
Āra nā korihô mane āśā."

"My only wish is to have my consciousness purified by the words emanating from the lotus mouth of my spiritual master."

Guru Mahārāja, I pray that I may always hold on to your instructions and serve you with sincerity. Your mercy has brought me here, and your guidance continues to shape my life.

On this sacred occasion of your Vyāsa-pūjā, I offer my heart at your lotus feet. I love you, Guru Mahārāja, and I am forever grateful for everything you have done for me.

Your humble servant,
Sucitrā Susevikā Devī Dāsī (dīkṣā)
