Vyāsa-pūjā 2025

Soumyadīpa dāsa (Mayapur - India)

Venerable Śrī Guru Mahārāja,
Please accept my humble obeisances at your lotus feet.

I am your very insignificant servant.

Guru Mahārāja, I could not attend your Vyāsa-pūjā today with the devotees at Śrī Māyāpur due to certain reasons.

Once, you kindly gave me darśana in a dream and initiated me with brāhmaṇa-dīkṣā. But I was so foolish that I could not recognize your mercy. I considered taking initiation from another Mahārāja of our Gauḍīya sampradāya. Still, Guru Mahārāja, by your unending compassion, you sent me a dear friend—Kṛṣṇa Keśarī—who always guides me on phone calls.

Talking to him, I realized the depth of my mistakes. And from that very moment, I resolved that you are my eternal Guru Mahārāja and that I would accept initiation from you alone.

Guru Mahārāja, I feel I am not yet qualified to be initiated by you. Whenever I see other devotees, I feel they are so much more senior and worthy, and I am not even fit to touch the dust of their feet. I see within myself no real qualities of a devotee. My heart is still attached to sense gratification, and I sincerely lament over this fallen condition.

Still, Guru Mahārāja, just as a mother forgives her child even after countless offenses, I beg for your forgiveness. You are my mother. You are my father. Please forgive all my offenses and again come into my dreams, instructing me clearly that I should accept dīkṣā from you.

I will do my utmost to become your worthy disciple. With whatever devotion I possess, I desire to serve you always.

Guru Mahārāja, I do not know how to properly glorify you. I know that many advanced devotees will write beautiful offerings, pouring their hearts out. I am not even equal to the dust of their feet. I am so ignorant and fallen that I cannot write proper glorification. So, please forgive me for all my faults and shortcomings in this offering.

I am your insignificant servant,
Soumyadīpa dāsa
