Dear Śrīla Prabhupāda,
Please accept our humble obeisances at your lotus feet. All glories to you.
In the purport to Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 2.8.5, you very beautifully mentioned:
It is said that a single pure devotee of the Lord can deliver all the fallen souls of the
world. Thus, one who is actually in the confidence of a pure devotee like Nārada or
Śukadeva Gosvāmī and thus is empowered by one’s spiritual master, as Nārada was by
Brahmājī, can not only deliver himself from the clutches of māyā, or illusion, but can
deliver the whole world by his pure and empowered devotional strength.
Whenever we read this purport, the only person we can think of is Your Divine Grace. How true it
is that you delivered the fallen souls of the world. And it is by your mercy that even today we are
able to move forward your mission. Although we are a small center here in Greater Noida, near
Delhi, India, still we have experienced how Your Divine Grace is still helping us continue the
good work of preaching. We would like to cite an incident that proves the above.
In our Janmāṣṭamī program, we invited a few influential personalities. Among them was one
very wealthy person. He said he had met Your Divine Grace in America as a student and been
highly impressed by your knowledge and compassion. He told us that he was searching for an
ISKCON center so he could donate some amount. And on that day, he promised to give a large
sum for purchase of land for our new temple.
Śrīla Prabhupāda, we can clearly see how even today you are present among us to guide us,
help us, and inspire us to dedicate our lives in the service of Lord Kṛṣṇa.
Śrīla Prabhupāda, we are trying to establish a temple here, and for that purpose we have
started a small center. We have all the programs going on in the center, and at the same time
we are trying our best to spread Kṛṣṇa consciousness by organizing festivals, courses, regular
preaching programs, book distribution, nāgara-saṅkīrtana, and so on. Our big festivals are draw-
ing thousands of people who appreciate our philosophy and organization.
We are trying our best to procure a good piece of land for temple construction, and we are fully
aware that nothing can happen without the mercy of Your Divine Grace. So on this auspicious
day of your Vyāsa-pūjā, we beg you to shower your mercy upon us so that soon we can offer a
temple to Your Divine Grace for the glorification of the Supreme Lord.
We would like to offer our gratitude to you for giving us the shelter of your lotus feet and the
association of your illustrious disciples, who are guiding us in our journey toward Kṛṣṇa.

Dearest Śrīla Prabhupāda,
I bow down to your divine lotus feet.
Every year it is more exciting to write you because I feel closer and closer to you. As my body grows older and older, I feel close to you more and more.
Dear Śrīla Prabhupāda, I write you this letter on behalf of the Greek yātrā. In Greece it is not so easy to present your books and Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s teachings because the Greeks have been “educated” for many centuries with the understanding that only through Jesus Christ, who they consider to God Himself, can we reach the kingdom of God. They deeply disrespect any other spiritual path.
We have faced many obstacles and challenges in the past, and we are facing more of both now in this difficult country, but anyway, we go out every day to distribute your books and prasādam. As you said, “You will always have your customers.” Every day we meet special people. For sure not many, but every day special souls are saved by your divine books, especially Śrīmad Bhagavad-gītā!
I’m experimenting here in Greece. It’s a little bit the sweet taste of being a pioneer in a difficult country, a little bit like you experienced in the Bowery. I feel very fortunate and blessed by staying here in Greece to “fight” on your behalf! This keeps me young, enthusiastic, and focused on your mission.
My constant meditation is about you in your beginnings in New York. Every day I become more and more absorbed in your hard and difficult early days of preaching Kṛṣṇa consciousness in Manhattan. The streets of Manhattan are my streets of Vrindavan – you walked those Manhattan streets distributing Kṛṣṇa consciousness. You are the greatest “soul seeker” because you left Vrindavan and went to the Bowery, living among the worse drunkards and drug addicts of America. From the garbage of this planet, you cultivated roses and lotus flowers! From the vagabonds, you brought out saintly ladies and saintly gentlemen!
You are the real personification of what the holy scriptures speak about: a Vaiṣṇava, a devotee of Śrī Kṛṣṇa! What a miracle happened in the streets of New York. This is our ultimate and real holy dhāma! For sure, Vrindavan is Vrindavan, but the mercy of Lord Nityānanda and Lord Gaurāṅga walked there in the streets of Manhattan through your unlimited compassionate nature of the greatest ācārya! You exemplify the meaning of a pure devotee delivering the lowest! That’s why I said that my heart is not so much in Vrindavan as in the streets of New York, where you faced the most difficult time of your life.
Śrīla Prabhupāda, please grant me the possibility to serve the sacrifices that you performed in order to save us. I know I’m not qualified to receive that special mercy, but please grant it to me because otherwise everything else is useless to me. Without the dust of your lotus feet that you left in Manhattan, my life is meaningless.

Our respectful obeisances are unto you, O spiritual master, servant of Sarasvatī
Gosvāmī. You are kindly preaching the message of Lord Caitanyadeva and delivering
the Western countries, which are filled with impersonalism and voidism.
In your purport to Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 1.1.8, you mention that “The secret of success in spiritual
life is in satisfying the spiritual master and thereby getting his sincere blessings.” This is a won-
derful transcendental secret that you mercifully revealed to we fallen conditioned souls who are
trying to revive our love for Kṛṣṇa. This secret would be useless unless we get the opportunity,
by Kṛṣṇa’s mercy, to find a bona fide spiritual master. Fully aware of our hopeless condition, you
founded ISKCON so that we would have a real and practical opportunity to find a bona fide spir-
itual master in disciplic succession and surrender unto him. You have opened this magnanimous
window of mercy built on the principles taught by Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu and His saṅkīrtana
movement.
Thank you, Śrīla Prabhupāda, for this wonderful matchless gift of ISKCON, from where we
can find our way back home, back to Godhead in the holy association of Kṛṣṇa’s devotees. Kindly
bless us so that our humble, insignificant efforts to maintain, preserve, and expand your beloved
ISKCON are a complete success.

Dear Śrīla Prabhupāda,

At this juncture in time, it is an undisputed fact that you are Kṛṣṇa’s most precious gift to the
whole world. And for we who are striving to become devotees, the greatest benediction is the
opportunity to be an instrument within your mission. By causeless mercy and some inconceivable
good fortune we became connected with your devotees and books, and this initiated our journey
on the path of bhakti.
Today, on your auspicious Vyāsa-pūjā day, we plead with you to inspire and guide us as we
confront the many challenges faced in furthering your mission here in Guyana. Please give us
the strength to follow your divine instructions very honestly and faithfully, and bestow on us the
capacity to cooperate despite the challenges. Kindly bless us so that we can chant the Hare Kṛṣṇa
mantra with proper mood, attention, and concentration, regularly study your books, and listen to
your classes with rapt attention.
ISKCON’s main purpose is to help devotees become absorbed in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. We
pray that all our programs and activities be of such quality that they enhance advancement in
pure devotional service. In this way, we can constantly be absorbed in deepening our loving
remembrance of Kṛṣṇa. ISKCON’s actual wealth and treasure is the devotees’ selfless and loving
commitment to your mission. Kindly help us preserve all the priceless gifts you left us with.
Please bless our Guyana yātrā so that we overcome setbacks and remain pure, potent, productive,
and ever progressing.
That said, we must also come to face the reality that the first generation of your disciples
is passing and that the next generation has the monumental task of upholding your vision.
Therefore, we must be careful not to let the pursuit of formal initiations (dīkṣā) be motivated by
external validation in place of true spiritual growth. Please bless us not to be sidetracked into a
religious mindset focusing on external identity markers, like rituals, status, and organizational
hierarchy, but instead kindly give us the intelligence to push this movement on the basis of a
scientific spiritual mindset, emphasizing personal transformation, deep scriptural study, and con-
scious devotion.
Please guide us in a way that ISKCON temples in Guyana prioritize deep scriptural education
over superficial preaching tactics, being careful that our projects not remain ritual hubs. You
always emphasized Kṛṣṇa consciousness as a science, not just a faith-based tradition. Please give
us the intelligence to always uphold this principle along with the strength to work together with
your other followers to accomplish these values.
Last February, your Legacy Museum was inaugurated on one floor of the TOVP in Māyāpur.
The world of ISKCON must endeavor to ensure that your legacy will remain prominent all over.
This requires that the understanding of your words, example, vision, and intention be etched into
every ISKCON center. Each of us must learn to apply it in changing times. In so doing, there is
every guarantee that your legacy will live on deeply into the future.
Śrīla Prabhupāda, kindly continue to infuse us with the ability to carry forth your mission here
in Guyana. Only by your blessings can we get the strength to overcome difficulties. We need your
blessings to remain strong and free from the clutches of māyā. On this most auspicious day of
your divine appearance, we offer our prostrated daṇḍavats at your lotus feet and repeatedly beg for
your kind mercy so that we may never deviate from the goals you set for ISKCON.

On this most auspicious day, we in ISKCON Guyana humbly pray for your continued guidance that we may become worthy instruments in your hands, assisting in spreading your profound teachings and divine mission. This year marks the 130th anniversary of your sacred appearance. With each passing year, we perceive ever more deeply the limitless expanse of your glories and your transcendental qualities. Your Vyāsa-pūjā affords us a divine opportunity to contemplate your extraordinary personality and to renew our commitment to your ISKCON.
This year also commemorates the sixtieth anniversary of your incorporation of ISKCON in the United States. In a mere six decades, through the tireless endeavors of your sincere followers, the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement has expanded extraordinarily, touching millions of lives and establishing a truly global spiritual revolution.
Today we meditate upon your unwavering loyalty to your revered spiritual master, Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Gosvāmī, and your resolute determination to fulfill his sacred instruction – to spread the glories of Lord Kṛṣṇa among the English-speaking world and uplift the fallen souls of Kali-yuga. Reflecting upon your early days in America, we are deeply moved by your unshakeable faith in your Guru Mahārāja and your pure devotion to Kṛṣṇa.
Despite immense hardships – uncertainty even in meeting your basic needs, and the challenge of guiding those unfamiliar with spiritual discipline – you remained steadfast, fully confident that the empowerment to fulfill your mission resided within your guru’s instructions. Your commitment to pure standards coupled with boundless compassion have reached and transformed countless lives, bringing spiritual awakening to all corners of the world. In just twelve short years, you accomplished what no one in history had achieved. Today, we bow before you in profound gratitude and reverence, making our humble attempt to glorify your immeasurable mercy and sacrifice, by which you have uplifted humanity.
On behalf of the four established temples in Guyana and our wider congregation, we offer our homage unto you, our esteemed founder-ācārya. This year holds special significance for the Guyana yātrā. It marks the fiftieth anniversary of ISKCON’s registration in Guyana as well as the twentieth anniversary of the establishment of our premier temple, the Hare Krishna Study Center, near the University of Guyana in Georgetown. Above all, we join the worldwide celebrations of the sixtieth anniversary of ISKCON’s founding in 1966 in New York City. In recognition of these milestones, the Guyana yātrā is organizing a five-day commemoration, “ISKCON Guyana 60/50/20 celebrations,” to honor this historic convergence.
Śrīla Prabhupāda, as early as the 1970s you expressed a desire to visit Guyana and to establish an ISKCON center here. In your letter dated 4 April 1971, written to your dear disciples Vaikuṇṭhanātha Dāsa and Śaradīya Devī Dāsī, who you sent to Guyana, you encouraged them to open a center here, recognizing Guyana as a fertile field for spreading Kṛṣṇa consciousness. You envisioned a strong and beautiful center in this part of the world, and even expressed your intention to visit when circumstances permitted.
You will be pleased to know that the message of Lord Caitanya continues to flourish in Guyana. Inspired by your desire to establish temples and install Deities here, your followers have, over the years, developed four centers across the country:
- New Kulīna-grāma in Berbice
- the Hare Krishna Study Center in Georgetown
- Śrī Śrī Gaura-Nitāi Āśīrvād Mandir on West Demerara, and
- New Navadvīpa Dhāma in Essequibo.
Three sets of Deities have been installed: Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Gokula Chandra in Berbice (1986), Parama Karuṇā Nitāi-Gaura Chandra in Georgetown (2016), and Śrī Śrī Nitāi-Caitanya Chandra at the Crane temple in West Demerara (1985). This year also witnessed the inauguration of the first Govinda’s restaurant at our Georgetown center.
We humbly beg for your blessings that we may continue to uphold the highest standards in Deity worship. By your mercy, the observance of Vaiṣṇava festivals, book distribution, nāma-haṭṭa preaching, Food for Life programs, and Sunday Love feasts are all progressing steadily. We feel your constant presence and divine direction, and you remain our enduring beacon on the path of spiritual life. We pray for your mercy so that our devotees may always remain enthusiastic and loyal in their service.
Śrīla Prabhupāda, you are our shelter and our strength. Kindly bless us so that we may remain humble mediums in your service. We pray that you forgive our shortcomings and grant us the strength to faithfully carry forward the mission of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu as you have so perfectly taught it. You are the guiding force behind all that we do and the eternal well-wisher of every soul. You have bestowed upon us everything – knowledge, purpose, and a loving spiritual family – and we remain forever indebted to you for your causeless mercy. We earnestly pray that you empower us with devotion, courage, and humility, so that we may continue to serve your divine mission with sincerity and determination. May your words forever illuminate our lives.
Today we renew our vow to spread the mission of Lord Caitanya, to serve the devotees, and to immerse ourselves in the nectar of the holy names of Kṛṣṇa. Please continue to guide us, Śrīla Prabhupāda, so that we may one day become true conduits of your boundless compassion and love. Kindly empower us to work together in harmony, with unwavering faith, determination, and love, in service to your divine mission. May we remain united in devotion, supporting one another in fulfilling your desires and sharing the sublime gift of Kṛṣṇa consciousness far and wide.
From the depths of our hearts, we offer our gratitude, our adoration, and our very selves at your lotus feet, praying always to remain engaged in your service. This alone is our life and soul, and our sole aspiration in this life. Please keep us always near your lotus feet and engaged in spreading the light of Kṛṣṇa consciousness through many diverse means.

We feel extremely fortunate to write this offering on this occasion of your Vyāsa-pūjā. We at
ISKCON Habibpur are trying to practice and preach Kṛṣṇa consciousness as per your desire.
Your books and lectures are the guidelines by which we conduct our daily lives in devotional
service. We feel protected and confident when we follow your instructions. Your life and teachings
are our inspiration. We are regularly reading your books such as the Bhagavad-gītā and Śrīmad-
Bhāgavatam in our daily and weekly classes in the temple and bhakti-vriksha groups.
By reading your books we feel nourished and gain strength in devotional life. All the problems
created by the agents of Kali are resolved by studying your books and following the instructions
in your teachings. It is true that you still live in your books and preach through your purports.
